To Alan & Morty...All I can say is OUCH!

They ought to cut your grass & walk your dogs for that much property tax.

Not to make anybody feel bad but I pay about $2200.00 per year in property taxes for the place pictured in my original post

  God bless
   Bill

Bill that's fantastic.

Obviously California is not a cheap state to live in but you can make some very good money here and the weather is fantastic.

Taxes are why I left NY.  In 1997 My property Taxes on a 800sq./ft home on a 90x100' lot were just over $5000.00/yr.

No BS....

Now I pay roughly $2300.00/yr on a 2400 Sq./Ft. home bought in 1999 Brand New on a little over 1/3 acre.
That's County Taxes AND City Tax together.

Here's one that one of those airplane outfits took of my house (left side of pic), but primarily of my lake. At one time the lake was 3 separate rock quarry pits. EPA required a dam be built which flooded all three. There is 19.7 acres of water surface.

Those companies are either going out of business or switching to drones.

Google map view of our place showing pretty much all 41 acres.

cuda dad

A guy came in to our workplace once to sell me one but I turned him down due to the high cost.  If it had been for my own place I am sure I would have differently about it.  I live for the day I can move out of California and be able to put my toys in one location.

Other than property tax, water bill in CA is ridiculously expensive. Also the landscape cost. I cannot imagine what that would be for 40 acres.

Awesome lake Racer57 , how's the fishing?
10min wait between catches of Bass.  There's actually too many Bass and needs shocked sometime.  It had Catfish stocked, but no one ever fishes for them because it takes time versus catching Bass.

Plum CrazyRTSE....That was my exact thought! The Illuminating Co. here in Ohio had some lakes like this except they were harder to get into. For the life of me I can't remember where they were. I will have to ask Dad, so I can hit them again! I LOVE to fish & bass are mt favorite, but because of my transport schedule I do not get to do it much. I carry an ultra-lite & small tackle box in the truck with me & have been known to sneak out behind a rest area or two that have a river or pond behind it for a few minutes!

Beautiful Racer57 (& some others as well) I say NEVER enough Bass! LOL I would love to help solve that problem!

God Bless

For that you need a well or river rights or a spring.
