I've started talking with a dealership about a 1970 R/T 383 4 spd car they have on the lot.  It's not matching #s or original.  Needs some work but not too bad as the body is mostly done.  Should be B5 with a white vinyl top and blue interior.  I can see the interior needs some work - wrong gauges, missing reverse light, needs hinge covers, etc etc etc.  The car is the pink one - hard to miss.  I attached a pic here, too.

Thanks!

  That's a lot of money for what that car is.  I would definitely look at that car in person first.   :alan2cents:

I'll be in Florida in two weeks and am setting up a personal inspection.  They said they are willing to move a bit on the price to move the car.  I've been looking, and real R/T 4 speeds don't come up that often anymore.

Very Attractive, although in the long run I would prefer the original B5.

As noted, your inspection is a must which will let you see and drive it for the vehicle it is.  Does look like the doors, especially the passenger, need some alignment help and likely the heater core needs to be replaced.  Expect a few more surprises given the lack of detail in the listing.

If I liked the car following a complete inspection (especially for any RUST and prior collision repair) along with a happy face test drive, I would probably be in the no more than $35k range from a dealer and $30k private party....

Interesting car. The paintwork looks fairly good but who can tell from photos. Lots of disappointments in the assembly but the value really would depend on what's under the paint so no way to value it without a personal inspection. Overpriced for sure but it's hard to say by how much.

nice eye appeal but I can spot a lot of stuff not done, no done right or missing which tells me a quickie was done...

why are heater hoses missing?

I would sure check for bondo in lower quarters  and bottom of doors....bet its there since looks like a quickie.....

could be a cool car if things check out

By looking at the pictures, I would say you are getting a decent looking restoration project for the cost of a done car. Are you sure it was a 4 speed car? If the fender tag says it came with a 4 speed, I would check for a rebody. Too much is wrong for a real 4 speed RT.

What's "wrong" with it to be a four speed car, other then the fact it may not have the dash light ?

Not familiar with the car or the dealer but it looks nice to me.  Aside from the color that is. People give me a hard time about me liking the browns, coppers, tan, greens, etc but this color is hideous. All in all, the price seems very fair to me if you inspect it well and don't find any problems with it.

I have a pic of the fender tag and it's a real 4 spd car.  I will check the body numbers.  B5 blue with white vinyl top and blue interior. Manual steering.  Power disc brakes.  Stripe delete. No console.

The cowl on that car doesn't look right for an early-built (based on the VIN) '70. It might have been repaired with a later-built donor, or ...
And why is there a 2-speed wiper motor?
Be careful.
