I'm looking to buy a decent dash cam with front and rear view cameras for my daily driver.  There are alot of camera brands and options to pick from. Does anyone have a personal favorite choice or recommendation? I'm totally all ears to all opinions.

I'm watching this thread. I've been thinking of getting one also.

There is a guy on you tube who does comparisons on different models. Here is one that will get you started. He is very knowledgeable with radar detectors and dash cams.

Hope this helps.

The company that dodj linked has 2 options for both front and rear, here's one of them.

My daily driver i bought used has a Wolfbox rear view mirror attachment that pretty much matches the size of a rear view, and you install a rear view camera mounted on the license plate.   By default it records in its memory both forward and rear views since the last time the car was powered on and you can copy the mp4 recordings.   It runs around $150 i believe.   Its ok...i dont like its nighttime rear view as headlights create a big round glow...

I just bought a Rove R2-4K Pro based on a number of on-line reviews.  I went with front only as I wanted ease of portability to move between vehicles.  Haven't used it yet to offer my opinion.

@captcolour  have you tried your Rove R2-4K Pro yet? It's on sale now and, I think, the non-Pro version is too but not 100% sure on that one.

@captcolour  Have you been using the Rove dash cam? What are your thoughts on it?

It still looks great in the box.  One of these days I'll get around to using it.  Thanks for the reminder.  I did bring it with me on this trip so really do need to try it out.

I wish there was more here from actual users. I have had one now for at least 15 years.... "decent" in the day but way outdated now. I would like to upgrade!

Yes, not from only reading Amazon reviews which are often too vague.

I bought the Rove R2-4K Pro. It got delivered yesterday. I'm sure there's a bit of a learning curve. I'll try to get it set up in less than three months.  :pokeeye:

I have the Viofo dash cams in my wife's daily and my truck.  Inexpensive and small, but they are easy to use and and they have several options you can select for rear facing camera, GPS, sound, mute, etc.  I bought the hard wire kit and wired it to the vehicle's fuse box.
I tucked the wires under the inside window trim molding.  Half the time I forget they're even there. They're both going on 4 years and have been troulbe free except for one sim card going bad.   https://viofo.com/dash-cam/143-a119-v3-with-gps-2k-25601600p-30fps-quad-hd-car-dash-cam.html
