You will want dedicated wiring that goes straight to your primary fuse box. I only say this because I've known of people that used existing wiring and had major issues.

I used to have a 220v electric heater in my garage from northern tool. They usually go on a pretty good Black Friday sale.

It worked great! Energy cost was what it was, I honestly didn't notice a difference worth mentioning. I now have heat and air conditioning in the garage so I sold off the smaller unit.
