Good price on VR1 oil at Walmart

Every April I'd see VR1 on sale at NAPA, but when I checked their online flyer the other day, no VR1 listed.  Part of my spring routine for a number of years was heading over to NAPA to buy my yearly supply of VR1 while it was on sale, so I was disappointed.
I stopped at a Walmart yesterday to get a wiper blade, and while there, checked out the oil in the next aisle, and was pleased to find they had 10W-30 VR1, 5 qt jugs for $26.97!  The last year or 2 NAPAs sale price was $5.99/qt, so that price for a jug is even better!
Menards and more recently Meijers have VR1 too, but they'd just have 20W50 and straight 50. I use 10W-30 and for some reason that one has always been harder to find.

Although I can't stand Walmart, that's where I get VR1 when I need it. Sometimes they have Wix filters but not always. I use no other filters. NAPA used to be made by Wix but no more....Joe

I'm no Wally World fan either, and hadn't been to one since last year.  But I'd heard a bunch of virtue signaling suburban narcissist types have declared a Walmart boycott this week over some slight to their cult they feel indignant about, I had a little free time to kill after work and before a meeting, so stopped at an area Walmart to pick up a few things I needed, and counter their boycott.

When Amazon has a prime day or black friday, its worth checking their price on VR1 or Castrol GTX Classic (which I think is only available in 20w-50); last prime day the Castrol was just under $20 for the 5 quart jug.  Free shipping if you're a prime member

Once in a while Meijers will have some nice discount coupons with one of them good for $5 off any general merchandise item over $25.  I'll use that to buy a jug of oil, I'll grab a jug of Mobil 1 for my daily driver for $20 and change. Recently they started stocking VR1, unfortunately only 20W 50 though.  But with that coupon a few months ago I got a jug of 20W 50 for around $22.
