so, my nephew (in OHIO) gets a message thru facebook asking if his dad owns or owned a '68 Hurst/Olds

my nephew forwarded the message to me & I called Mike - he purchased a '68 H/O window sticker off of eBay - he did some legwork & found me

the car is in my garage  & the original window sticker will be heading my way soon!!

Really great that Mike reunited the paperwork for the Olds.   :thankyou:
$4,300 was a lot of money in 1968. Nice car!

here's a similarly OPTIONED '68 Coronet R/T 440 4-speed convertible @ $4419.70 only a few bucks more (~$40, $30 of it shipping)

That's freaking cool!  Love to hear stories like this.   :veryexcited:

I guess that 's the $$ "ballpark" to be styling & reasonably fast "back-in-the-day" - they're #29 & #37 on the MCR fastest 50 muscle car list  :D although it looks like the Coronet R/T might need a little more gear to keep up

68 & 69 H/O cars   Of the few non-Mopars I'd consider.  Major torque!!

That's great, and the guy who bought it and did the research is a true car guy knowing what original paperwork really means to have.

How much did he pay for the sticker just to give it to you?  Pretty nice guy for sure!   :worship:
Drive it like you stole it . . . And they're CHASING you!

I'm paying for it, he just wants what he paid for it off eBay a couple years ago. ($$ figure unknown at this time, he thinks "not much")

When I bought the car ~20 years ago the original owner said he had some paperwork & the protect-o-plate, he just couldn't find them.  He traded-in a '66 427 'Vette on the H/O between tours to Viet Nam for Uncle Sam.

his number has changed, my number has changed, no more land lines - I tried to track him down when I went to OHIO & Carlisle a couple summers ago - I'm guessing he couldn't find me & listed it on eBay
