I heard this car will probably sell Monday. But if someone stepped up they can get in now

Heads up 70 383 Cuda survivor-ish for sale in So Cal. Just two small rust spots. All original sheet metal. Same owner since 1972.

My buddy is selling this. I rode in it. Cold starts nice, drives nice. Just new tires that have been sitting for years and I think a weak master cly.

Notice the blue factory markings on the right side lug nuts. Left sides were red. Jan 1970 SDP and door sticker from LA plant.

Agree that this is a cool car, but still surprised that a scruffy 383 auto car with NOM would get snatched up within hours of its listing for almost $40K.

Maybe time to adjust the agreed value on my Hagerty policy again.

It's no bargain at 40K.  Maybe it's worth it, but a 383 car?  I'm not so sure.  Its a numbers matching car in a not-so-ideal color.  But 40K buys you a complete car that looks drivable, which is pretty nice, these days.

It's not numbers matching.  Add says the original 383 is gone and there is a 400 in its place.

I have to ask same thing, what makes this car worth $38k?
Because its a Cuda, would Challenger be less?
Because its a "survivor"?
So throw another $30-40k at it and now you have a $50-60k car?

Find one with that clean of a body, all original panels, and complete. Not with a bunch of hidden ("restored") issues to find later.

There is so much shiny $h*t out there.

I agree, clean car, good price, or buy a rust bucket for $18K and spend $20K fixing the rust  :alan2cents:

Notice the factory quarter panel undercoating patterns. I wonder if that arrow looking mark was there on purpose. Has anyone seen that mark before??

There is what seems to be a corresponding paint chip on the outside of that corner on the picture of the quarter posted on febo.  Maybe a tad higher, but the arrow appears to have separate rust above the arrow looking rust.  Most likely a small dent that didn't cause any major damage.
