It's been a very rough weekend. Tears return to my eyes as I read all of these messages  from you guys and those that have reached out through PMs and emails. I'm very thankful that @Cuda Cody built us a platform where a bunch of strangers can feel like family :grouphug:

My Mom was a tough ol' gal and taught me a lot in life...I'll miss her for sure.... :andyangel:

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.  You're in my thoughts.  Feel free to share any good memories or stories about your mom.  It's one way I've found to keep loved ones memories alive is to talk about them.  :andyangel:

Alan, sorry to say that I just saw this thread and I'd also like to offer my condolences over the loss of your mom. She may have been 90, but she sounds like she lived the way she wanted to right to the very end and that says a lot about her abilities and strength of character. As you said, remember the good times and know that she'll never be really dead as long as she lives in your heart and mind. Sorry for your loss buddy.  :(

Sorry that i missed this Alan, sorry for your loss. Although 90 is a good run at life and i'm sure she had alot of great memories with her family, there is never a good time to say goodbye. I hope time is healing your loss, remember the good times.....

Sorry again

Strange turn of events....Growing up we had neighbours that lived directly across the street for about 50+ years...our two families grew up together...
My Mom stayed in our house until the end, but across the street is now owned by the grandson (still in the family).

Anyways...my Mom and the neighbour lady were good friends for decades...they both turned 90 this Summer...
The neighbour lady lived in a nursing home and when her daughter told her on the weekend about my Mom dying, I guess she decided to go too...She died exactly one week later  :andyangel:

Spooky... :vipermanhiding:

Just reading this thread and I want to extend my sympathies as well, Alan. Thank you for sharing your loss with us and also, the passing of your mom's neighbor. Uncanny timing.

I hope the outpouring from this group comforted you for a bit. It's extremely difficult to lose a parent. I've found grief takes as long as it needs to in order to process this profound of a loss. Please know you'll remain in my thoughts.

It is strange how that goes, a good friend of mine's mom passed away earlier this year. 3 weeks to the day after that his dad passed away too.

Another person i knew passed away a few years ago and the next day his wife did. Both of them were sick and both fighting but it was like they give up together.
