If you've never been to a Historic's race it should be considered a Bucket List item..... First time I went I expected a parade type environment... Not what I got... Shelby Cobras in four wheel drifts, Gran Sport Corvettes thrashed mercilessly, Mercedes Gullwings again in four wheel drifts.... AAR's & T/A's in competition with Boss 302's, Z28's & Javelins' all showing how it was done in the old days.... Truly an impressive deal....  When I was pretty young I was a huge Chaparral fan, Jim Hall was a genius at looking at the rules & finding opportunities... Back in 2005 Jim & his team along with all the cars were the featured Marque..... First time I got to actually see the cars run live & in person.... Awesome...

Might seem odd but in 1999 Auto Union was the Marque...  AUTO UNION Pavilion in the Paddock at Laguna Seca
AUDI, the successor of AUTO UNION, presented a one-of-a-time gathering of 5 pre-war "Silver Arrows" - a 1936 V16 Type C Grand Prix, a recreation of a 1937 V16 Type C Streamliner, a 1939 V16 Type C/D Mountain Climb and two V12 Type D Grand Prix from 1938 and 1939. Three of these cars have been found in Russia several years ago and underwent restoration in England. The V16 Streamliner is a recreation of the originals by the AUDI factory, since none of the two original cars survived. The C/D Mountain Climb is the only surviving all original V16 racecar in existence.

1997 Shelby was the featured Marque five out of six of the original Shelby Daytona Coupes were on display... Along with the seventh Daytona Coupe with was built in Britain & was a little "different" but still very cool & truly a piece of history..

Anyway I'll finish by saying    JUST GO!!!  You won't regret it...
