Well, we checked the new flipper gas cap the boys bought for me and it became apparent that we don't have an inner, actual gas cap for it. What does everyone else do that has been in my position? Availability, price, location? Any help will be appreciated and thanks in advance. By the way, it's a 74 Challenger with the oem gas tube still in it.

You just need a gas cap?  Kinda like the one on the photo?  @MoparDave  sells them and has the non vented (which is I think what you need).

That's what I use under my flip top.

If I had known the original locking inner caps would fetch that much, I would have saved more of them!
Contrary to the opinions of some, I am not dumber than I look.

Yeah Murray, you're right; but you know where we Bruce County boys get our rags? We pull 'em out of the arses of the Perth County boys! LOL   Nice, I'll just steal yours you old combine jockey.  :Stirring:
Thanks for the tip Cody!  :bigthumb:

Sorry for the delay but my buddy just got back to me. He used Napa 7031035 as the inner gas cap under his flip top. He got that part number from another friend of his who's also building a Challenger. I think they're like 10 bucks CDN at a Canadian Napa.

This is a hoot, back in 1975 when people were lining up for gas, here in SoCal, my Challenger was mainly a daily driver so I parked it in the driveway. After having my gas siphoned a couple of times I went down to Pep Boys and bought a Stant locking cap. No more missing gasoline and fits just fine under the flip door gas cap. The same cap from that year still works great to this day.   Thanks,   Al

Al, I had the more expensive theft happen on my 73 Challenger. I was living in a so-so part of town. I had a Stant locking cap under my flip cap,so they just stole the flip cap... :steamingmad:

I have a Stant 10571 locking vented cap under my flipper. Just Google it. Cost 12.00-15.00 on the web, or an auto parts store that carries Stant can order it for you.

It depends on what filler pipe you have, there are design changes that require different fuel caps....  BTW I need to credit Gary Ward AKA Challenger 1 over on Moparts for the gas cap & fill pipe photos......

Someone who still posts over on Moparts should invite him over.... Good Guy....

:iagree: Yes, I should have mentioned that. OP's results may vary.
