Saw this news story about a couple leaving a small community in western Ontario because of their frustration with government.
So they are packing up and moving to.......

California?
Lol
From what I hear from time to time on this forum, I don't think they have researched the move.

Agreed, poorly researched is an understatement. There must be other factors that are at play here and they are not disclosed as part of the motivation.

Difficult transition to take.  I would imagine that being used to having no freedom (canada) you would not know much difference between the states.  But moving to California will make them feel more at home.  They will gain half freedom when moving to California.  Still a far cry from what you guys get up in Canada.  Good for those people. It's still a step in the correct direction.

Other than ccw, I don't think there's any differences freedom wise between the two countries. At least if there is I'm not aware of it.

Unfortunatley, I have seen many instances where people move from other areas to another where its more "free" or in the country:  But then they bring their own rules and want others to comply.  Sorry, Ca is NOT the place to go.

Move to a "RED" state and be done with it.

I wasn't aware of Canada's 2nd amendment.   Seriously.  I've not read your "constitution". Is there a "right" to bear arms?
Canada is locked down as a whole,  right now,  right?
Here in the states only the blue large cities are holding control over people and having them locked down.  Florida has been fully open since last June.  Texas is wide open.  No issues in any of those southern RED states.

I wish Canada would open just so Carlisle is more fun.  selfish, I know.

I know without a shadow of doubt I am in the right place , far less government , actually like being back in the 50s !
The size & overreach of most governments is rediculous as well as the cost to the citizens ! If I was considering moving to the US I would be looking at Tx or Fl long before Ca !
You can & have always been allowed to concealed carry in Canaduh as long as you have no respect for  the law that prevents it .

Me too.  Seems pretty stupid to prevent Americans and Canadians from crossing the border but you can fly in from anywhere else in the world.

I just went to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for 6 days.
We only needed to take a Covid test at the resort before we came back to the US. No test needed to go.
The US has a requirement of proof of a negative test taken within 3 days of re-entry.

I'm surprised that at this stage of the game, Canada doesn't use a similar test policy as the US.
