Cool cars , one of my bosses had one , never got a chance to drive it though

A good friend of mine had one. It was a lot of fun. I will say that fit and finish of the interior wasn't as polished as I thought it would be. It developed a leak in one of the fuel tanks, which on the year he had were located behind the doors. Research said that it required pulling the engine to repair/replace. We tried to do it without pulling the engine but couldn't quite get it out. :headbang: He wasn't up for trying to pull it ourselves. It sat for years and I just learned a few months ago he sold it to someone locally along with a 280z SCCA racecar he had. Not sure what he got out of it but I'm sure someone got a good deal. :bye:

That's insane about the fuel tank! And i thought my caddty sts-v was a tight fit.   :o

I've never seen one around these parts. Be nice to get a little seat time.  :burnout:

I have always loved the look of these cars.  Ever since I watched "The Spy Who Loved Me" I wanted to own a lotus.  But logic set in and knowing very little about these cars I found only larger cities had people who could repair them and regular maintenance was extremely expensive.  The price on these cars were always cheaper than Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. and buying one was within reach, but again cost were my main worry for repair work.  If I live long enough I may someday get one, but more than likely just in my dreams.

I as well am a fan of these.  Ownership depends on the size of your wallet, or the equipment you have in your shop.  You pretty much have to have a lift because to do anything on these cars the engine comes out from the bottom.  If that doesn't bother you great, otherwise you're paying someone to do the work that has this equipment.

I've always admired these cars too, but like a lot of sporty vehicles my height would likely be a problem.   Always fun to dream though.

I have sat in one? By mere looks I prefer the James Bond style 1st generation ones.

I always look at these old performance cars and think "that's a great deal" I often look at Ferrari 348's.

I refuse to test drive one though. I know I am going to love it and think with my heart and not my brains. I will be reminded of that poor thought process when I have to buy parts or pay for a specialist.
Someday I will have a J0b.
