I wonder what diff that is in the top picture? Almost looks like a quick change used in circle track?

I would imagine by the late 60s the serious racers were beginning to look at specialized racing housings, some based of traditional quick change designs and some modified designs. Current offerings come from Stange and Mark Williams like these: https://www.dragzine.com/tech-stories/drivetrain/modular-rear-end-housings-101-with-mark-williams-enterprises/  but I'd imagine they were just starting design and development in this era.

I believe that is Bob Wriggles Hurst Hemi under Glass , & with the odd position of the engine & drive train & recall he used a quick change diff
