Need some advice from our Calif. members

Well my youngest daughter (25) Took a job with a large software company in California. It's located in Redlands.

Of course my wife is freaking out....lol She's our baby....

Anyway anyone that can give me some insight on the area, good,bad or otherwise and any other info would greatly be appreciated.

My youngest sister lives five miles from Redlands, Ca. She rides her bike to work almost everyday to Esri, Redlands. She has worked there about ten years. Loves it. Housing is affordable in the surrounding area. ESRI is digitalizing the geography of the world. Wonder if your daughter will be working for ESRI. Redlands is where ESRI is headquarterd and has about 3800 employees. Redlands is located 12 miles down from Big Bear Lake. However it is almost an hour drive to get up there because of the elevation and hair pin turns but a beautiful drive. Also should note Redlands is home to Redlands University.

Maybe call the local LE and talk to them. Also on Facebook many towns and neighborhoods have watch groups.

Redlands is much like many outlying areas. Costs to rent and purchase are vastly lower than inner city. It remains a mix of industrial and farming with now more corporate due to lower costs. Again like most places there is good and bad (some real low income areas). Recommend to not sign into long term tenancy in the beginning. She will learn a lot in beginning of where to locate herself.
Climate... it is the desert and gets hot and stays hot for many months. Then there is more hot... low humidity and high heat. Sunscreen a necessity. So depending on what temps she is used to this could be an issue. As with all of SoCal we have everything here but traffic dictates what and where you can go.
I live about 60 miles west of there.
