@anlauto, I'm looking forward to see how you attack this one (and maybe copy a thing or two). There weren't too many examples a couple years ago.

Not sure what trans your client is thinking, but that 392 needs a few more gears than the old hemis.

...and the WINNER is

Looks like members @YellowThumper and @cudaragtop  have better "visual measuring" then I certainly have...there is NO WAY in hell this thing is even close to fitting..... :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:
Of course I offered to refund my customer the $400 CDN it cost, (look for it on KiJiJi soon)  but I'm out of ideas and loosing money

Problem is finding something that will work....most seem to be listed for 3" while the throttle body measures 3.5" :looney:

@anlauto, you can't twist it forward and down to sit right behind that hole in the radiator support?

It looks shorter than the LMI I'm using.

Also, S&B Filters will make you a custom size/length/type filter pretty cheap. Mine was $41 shipped: Universal Filter (Cleanable, 8-ply Cotton, Blue Oil): Flange ID 4, Top OD 5.25, Element Height 7, Top Style: Black Rim w/ Power Stack

anlauto

I tried that...The problem is the filter is huge!    5" inch opening and 10" tall, in order to use that pipe in the turned down spot, I would need a filter with a 5" opening and only about 3" tall

Agreed with @392 Cuda with turning it to aim downward.
Or... purchase some large diameter mandrel bends and make one to hit location you want.
Then of course make 2 so you can sell that one for the next new gen Hemi recipient.
Life is to be viewed thru the windshield. Not rear view mirror.
You are the only one in charge of your destiny.

I should have just listened to you in the first place...even turned down it won't fit, I just checked.... :looney:

Hey Alan, is there room for the filter to sit upright along the driver's side of the radiator?

If so, you can get 3-1/2" flex hose to run from the throttle body over and down low to feed up into the filter???

Mebbee somethin like this?  https://www.mcmaster.com/flexible-hose/id~3-1-2/

The idea was for something that looked like it was supposed to be there and look professional, I can likely make it work, but I don't want it to look like MacGyver made it from hardware store supplies :crazytalk:

@anlauto , Graveyard Carz used a mopar tube that looked pretty good. Maybe they'd share the part number with you.

Are you planning to build an airbox?

anlauto

Hummm...I do wonder if that was a kit they used, or something homemade ???

I have yet another tube coming, this one is 4" (above one was only 3")....I just need to find an adaptor ring so I can use the JLT filter we already have...

So problem solved   I bought a piece of 4" diameter pipe with a 45* bend from Amazon, Couple of pieces of plumbing parts from Canadian Tire to make my 4"-6" adaptor....

Shorten up the pipe, drilled it for a MAP sensor and a PCV vent....and away I go....

The thing I like best is the custom wrinkle paint finish to give it that complete "store bought" look :)
