My son's avenger has two broken wheel studs on the driver's front hub. Do I have to remove the hub to get the replacement done?
I'm thinking hammering the broken stud out on the car would cause further damage being front wheel drive? Yes? No?

Found this video of a Caravan..... doesn't seem terribly traumatic removing the old stud

I'd just use the hammer.  that area is designed to take all kinds of forces from pot holes and cornering etc.  a couple smacks with a 2lb hammer won't damage anything.  The studs aren't that tightly pressed in.    You can use a lug nut and stack of washers with an impact wrench to pull the new one in.

Or, if you're afraid of using a hammer, try using a ball joint press or similar device to slowly push it out.

It certainly does not. I was expecting to have whack it a fair bit.

OK, hammer it is.

Thanks guys
