Oroville Dam one of the largest Dams is under emergency evacuation.

OROVILLE — Immediate evacuations have been ordered for residents of the low levels of Oroville and areas downstream, according to officials with the California Department of Water Resources.

Officials say a hazardous situation is developing with the Oroville Dam auxiliary spillway. The operation of the auxiliary spillway has led to severe erosion that could lead to a failure of the auxiliary spillway.

Officials are anticipating a failure of the auxiliary spillway at Oroville Dam within the next 60 minutes.

Failure will result in an uncontrolled release of flood waters from Lake Oroville.

The DWR is increasing water released to 100,000 cubic feet per second.

Some areas of CA. are at 200% currently for the year and it keeps raining.

So many roads in mountains are washed out. It's crazy here.

Sorry guys, hope it turns out okay.

wow scary stuff! Droughts or floods, no in between it seems?

sucks for sure, but hopefully it will help fill the aquifers a bit, big portions of CA have been sinking inches (and feet in some cases) due to sucking out so much water

That's the sad part, governor Moonbeam didn't think about recharging the aquifers. But then again water prices only go up and never down - go figure.

I've fished both Lake Oroville and the forebay many times. That is a ton of water to try to control, hope it all works out.

I can't imagine being one of 200K people told to evacuate now.   :help:  Just leaving everything behind and praying you come back to it.   :(  In my prayers.

I hope this doesn't create many classic parts cars.  :crying:
