Just some personal opinions concerning my hood, mainly the scoop openings. I've noticed that the paint is cracking and peeling off my scoop openings. So, I'm going to pull the scoops and redo them.
Now I've seen the different ways that Challenger owners with the power bulge hoods have approached different finishes here. I thought Ok, I have a spray can filled with the factory color EK2 Go-Mango filled by the local Sherwin Williams Auto Finishes. Or paint them a satin black finish, or take them to a local metal chrome platers and have them stripped of paint, and since they are aluminum have them polished up to a bright finish. What do you all think or which way would you go.  Thanks,   Al

I've run them in flat black, they didn't look bad. I guess it depends on how well of a paint match you can get and how beat the rest of the paint on the hood is. They may stick out like a sore thumb.

I'm in the same boat with my Barracuda now, PO cut the scoops open and I'm not sure that I want to bother with trying to paint match on a new pair. There's a good chance they will wind up black.

Body color UNLESS   you do the hood blackout too.

Never seen the polished/chrome, don't think I'd like that. Matte black would be OK if there is also a hood decal on the car (as mentioned and shown). But you can't go wrong with body color! Your preference and choice of course. Would be tough to come back from chrome, would likely have to buy replacements.

I know lots say to match... but it depends on the color combo. I think black looks great with the black vinyl roof.  :alan2cents:

:iagree: If you have a black vinyl roof or the hood blackout then black will work. You could spray them body colour and see how well it matches. If there's too much difference then go with black.

I'll be the odd man out. I don't like any of them body colour unless your body colour is black. Other than that, I think the contrast makes the scoops pop.

If you are going for originality of course, you don't have a choice anyway.
