Alright, I know this is an E-body forum but I thought I'd share my story. In 1995 I bought a 1970 Superbird EV2 white gut 440/4 barrel column auto that was converted to 4 speed. It sat at a house in Southern California for 20 years then moved to a storage lot around 1990. I then got the chance to buy it for 8500 dollars in 1995. So I borrowed the money to do it. I paid it off in less than a year and in 1998 I bought my first house. Being young and broke I made the decision to sell it to replenish my savings. You know, trying to act like an adult. I sold it in 1998 for around 20k. Thinking I would easily replace it one day. Not so easy as it turns out.

It was a decent car but it had rust and the nose had been repaired. It also had 60k miles on it. So for the last 22 years I have been searching and saving hoping to find a replacement. A few years ago I made a friend that I bought a six pack intake and carb off of. He bought a Superbird at an auction in Indiana. A low mile one 70's era repaint. A driver that looked really untouched. Well 6 months ago he informed me that he wanted to sell to buy a house. So I got my butt in gear saving working overtime selling project cars and 6 months later I own it. It's a numbers matching 440/4 barrel column auto 70k mile car. All it's original panels and it appears as though the engine and trans have never been out. For me it's number four of my five car dream collection.

That is an awesome car!  Any other details on the car, like fender tag details?

What's your plans for it?  Just drive it?

I plan on driving it and enjoying it. I will do very very deep cleaning, color sand rub, and get the motor to run to its full potential. Ill also strip all the decals off and start over because every decal is either in the wrong place or its put on wrong. The fendertag is pretty generic with very few options. The important codes are there V88 V19 and FJ5!
