Thunder Bay weather

@dodj  Whats temp and weather like there  now in Thunder Bay. My daughter is flying up to work in a hospital for 8 weeks . Shes worried about how much warm / winter clothing to bring. Whats the winter months like up there . Thanks Rob

Right now the temp is +2*. In town there is a few cm of snow on the ground. I would tell her to be prepared to encounter -15 to -20* on a regular basis. Sometimes a little warmer, sometimes we get a 3 or 4 day stretch of -30 to -40*.
December is usually not too bad. January and February are when you can get those bits of -30* or so. Last week of Feb into March it starts warming up to a range of -10 to +3.

If she is looking for an apartment, tell her to stay away from the 'east end', and a place called the Limbrick apartments/row housing. Niether are close to the hospital anyway though.
