Being an old school Canuck, I cut my booze teeth on rye whisky and over the years have floated between VO, Calvert's Double Distilled, Crown Royal and lately some pure rye Centennial which is a bargain for the buck and very smooth. Being omniboozerous, Scotch has come into the picture and Glenmorangie's various iterations have done the "sixteen men of Tain" proud and their are many other "laddies" that we like. If you like rum, try Zapaca- we stumbled- no, not literally- on it in the duty-free store and the 23 year old Solera is like an angel cryin' on your tongue. Damn, now I'm getting thirsty!  :drinkingbud:
In the immortal words of Jimmy Scott- "pace yourself!"

For reasonably priced bourbons, Buffalo Trace is nice. I am exploring a number of local distilleries offerings lately and not consuming a lot of nationally available stuff. Never tried any really high end stuff but have heard all the stories about Pappy's, etc.

Scotch I like Monkey Shoulders, smooth, sippable, easy to drink. Its a blend so single malt fans may not care for it.

Irish whiskey my standard go to is Powers Gold label. I've been trying a few single malts but so far nothing has really jumped out at me.

Jack Daniel's No. 7 for me, although Old No. 6 is closing the gap. I've got to say Old No. 6 is very easy to drink lol. Remarkable how smoothly it goes down.

I spent a lot of years drinking rye whiskey and Jack Daniels.

I never touch Jack any more...gives me a headache like you would not believe.  I also think there are much better choices out there.

Rye also gives me a headache...love it but I avoid it.

The last few years I have become a Bourbon fan and that is my Friday night go to, in order to wind down.

Tried a few.

Buliett is really good.

Jim Beam has a few different ones that I like, the Prohibition and Bonded are nice.  Did not care for the Devils Cut. Not sure I have ever tried the regular white label.

Buffalo Trace was good in an old fashioned but I did not like it on the rocks.

I am always happy to try out a new Bourbon, but most are expense up here in the great white north. so I stick with what I like.

I have tried Scotch, but still not sure I like it.
