I stumbled across this video on YouTube this morning.   It certainly brings back some great memories as there was a slot car track operating a few miles from where I grew up which my older brother and I use to go to regularly.   This guy's track and approach are a whole different level compared to what we had access to at the time.

WOW!!!  :perfect10:  Thanks for sharing. That guys detail and technological modifications are second to none. I was kind of sad when it ended I would of liked to have seen more, guess I'll be checking out his website. I used to race on a basic plain Jane track too.

That's without a doubt the best setup I've seen. The guy is obviously extremely smart and talented to create something like that. You can tell he loves his hobby. That's great.

Mr Lee

Pretty innovative how he designed the track itself and how he can fit more cars on the track with the slots being closer together...  and also by converting it to AC so two cars can run on the same slot.  But I don't understand though.... he said that when the cars get to the hairpin turn, they can move to the other side of the track.  How do they do that?  How does a car change slots while moving if the cars don't steer?   Or am I confused?  I know he said that since the slots are so close together that you can't pass until you get to the spot in the track where the slots separate from each other which gives space to pass, but there also seems to be places on the track where the slots intersect, just like a train track.  ?
Remember, wherever you go, there you are.

I was curious about the lane changing too.  This short video shows one approach to executing lane changes.   It's probably a similar approach to what's used in the track on the previous video.  Pretty amazing stuff.
