NAPA seems to have a VR1 racing oil sale every April.  I just checked their site, and see the conventional VR1 is on sale for $5.99 a quart.  Same price as their sale on it a year ago, which is nice in these inflationary times.  Last time I bought some was last year on Amazon and I think the best price there was around $50 a case, which is a bit over $8 a quart. At the same time it was around $11 at the auto parts stores!

Thanks for the heads-up! Which weight do you run?

I run their 10W-30 in my 383 convertible and my 360 Magnum GT.  I've always used 20W-50 in my V code.  No particular reason for the heavier weight in the 440, it's just that when I bought the car I had 20W-50 in my garage and used it for that car when I changed the oil, the engine seemed happy, so I've continued to use that weight in it when I change its oil.
Menards stores have VR1, as do Farm And Fleet as I recall, and their prices are always a lot lower than the auto parts chains.  However for some reason they just stock 20W-50 and straight 50.  I've always wondered why they don't carry 10W-30, as everyone I knows with a vintage car who uses VR1 seems to use that weight.  I suspect the most popular weight is 10W-30.
