I've been getting Torco online from E bay for $22 bucks shipped.

Then i saw another brand that was a little more pricey.
Octane Supreme.
Almost $40 bucks shipped. Ouch!

It claims to have lead.

What are your recommendations?

I've run the Lucas octane booster, without it on hot days (100+) my engine pings with premium fuel when pulling the grade to Pacheco pass.... Add half a bottle to the tank & it's fine...

FWIW it gets five stars from Summit reviewers & over 4.5 from Amazon reviewers...

There's a place near me selling race fuel but it's like 8 bucks a gallon.

Problem with relying on race fuel is you can't leave town.... Most of my drives are 250+ miles & often 500+...

"Most of my drives are 250+ miles & often 500+..."- Attaboy!! Drive 'em! I couldn't afford gas @ $8.00USD  - like $11CDN and it'd have to be a real. once-in-a-blue moon toy to do so.  :driving:

That's good to know.

I've been worried driving that grade. It's so steep coming from N. CA.

Funny thing, I just drive down to the corner station, fill up with 87 octane and drive off.

I've had & still have cars like that... But I've always liked a little more horsepower.... Ya gotta pay to play....

I had this to be able to drive  my 440 six-pack stock spec here in sweden, wind in your back and rubbergloves because it's extremely poison, I used a bottle to 40 gallons now I have replaced the heads with Edelbrock RPM and hope I can managed whitout it, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Octane-Supreme-130-fuel-additive-octane-boost-booster-/190586596801?hash=item2c5fd8adc1:g:5PgAAOSw8d9UucLQ&vxp=mtr

Most of octane boost products are crap. "Points" increase claims are 1/10ths. Not whole number of rating. 7 points is 94 to 94.7,  not to 101.

Our Challenger can get a little "pingy" in the heat like Wild's.  Its not bad, but low rpm. I've tried Lucas. They claim 3 whole numbers (30 points). Didn't work for us, but maybe I didn't use enough.

Lot of racers are using this now instead of buying race fuel by the drum: http://race-gas.com.  Check out the blending guide. "2 OUNCES OF RACE GAS
WILL RAISE THE OCTANE OF 1 GALLON OF GASOLINE
4 FULL OCTANE NUMBERS (40 POINTS OF OCTANE)."

A 32 ounce can is $30.  That will take 16 gallon tank of 93 to 97. Do the math on race gas cost here and they are saving a bit. And easier.

I know few racers with all data loggers and crap who say they see not appreciable difference with true race gas versus the Race Gas mixture.

And those guys at race-gas  dude went through some crap to develop that. Would be quite scam.

If things like Lucas could raise it 3 numbers .... why hasn't that been a go-to?  Or maybe Lucas is go to get you from 93 to say 95s and stop the pinging. But not practical to raise 93 to say 98 or 100 for high compresssion race engine.

Gonna try the Race Gas in Challenger.  Try incremental. 93 to 95. To 97. See what happens.

Bought couple bottles. And have couple 5 gallons 100 Sunoco. Lol. Ironic we're setting up drag car for pump too lol.

Oldschool

55 gallons of VP 110 mixed 50/50 with 90 octane ethanol free gas = 100 octane ethanol free fuel. Runs a little cooler too...
