Yawl are ranting and raving about the welding. Their welding is on par with a union journeyman welder's ability. My brother-in- law is a journeyman welder at Benicia's, Martinez's and Rodeo's refineries. His welds are at least as good. Yet he doesn't have  mechanical engineering ability and drives imports. I am a certified welder and to me their welds are on par with some of the students I graduated with in welding technology. I am more marveled and in awe of their creative genius and excellent mechanical engineering fabrication skills.

I'd never gone through the whole set of pics and I come away bedazzled by their abilities and workmanship! Fabulous!

I enjoy looking at nice workmanship even if my tastes differ from the finished product. I do agree though with the workmanship. I briefly worked at a place that built semi trailers and if the welders didn't produce work that nice they would be asked to produce it or leave.

I work in a sheet metal and welding shop and those welds are nice but nothing any better than our welders, the fab work on the other hand is not something a lot of guys could do. I still will never understand spending all that money and time on everything underneath and leaving the crappy rusty body the way it is instead of giving it a paint job to match.

Well I am going to say that the welding is not "on par" with what or whomever.

His metal working skills especially with an English wheel are unbelievable. His welds may not be as good as some people, but they are far better than the majority of people that I've known that think they can weld.  I watched a video showing him welding aluminum with oxy acetylene just to see if he could do it after hearing about someone else that had done it. After playing with it for awhile, it looked like a Tig weld.

We played at gas welding aluminium at trade school back in about 74 and I remember that cleanliness was next to godliness and that there was no such thing as too much flux and finally, that heat control was hyper-critical and that it could go from a solid to a puddle on the floor in a heartbeat. The old school English panel beaters did it all the time and I'll take my hat off to anybody who can gas weld aluminum and make it look good.
