303 Mopars post about his 16 year old son's first car got me thinking, how many of you have pictures of you with your first new (to you) car?
Here's me with mine, circa 1965 with my new to me 1961 VW Bug.  Surprisingly I went from this to my factory ordered NEW 1970 Cuda.

Brads70

I've posted this a few times but here is my first car in 1986, 1973 Challenger 318,auto

Mine was a 68 Javelin sst 343 for $300
The similarities are the deep recess grille & taillights across the rear bumper same features of the Chall
this is not my picture but similar
I have never bought a New car just new to me

RUNCHARGER

My first new one. 75 Road Runner, 400. I would have liked to have bought a 74, 360, 4 speed Challenger but none were to be found. Then I bought a new 76 Adventurer SE when I purchased my first 67 GTX and didn't need a smogger car anymore. Then a 78 Adventurer SE, then a.... I put about 50,000 miles a year on back then travelling all over the province for work. Lots of 100MPH trips back then getting to where I was working.

My first car was purchased in 1980 when I was 17 and my father insisted I get a car that would not cost me an arm & leg for insurance.
So I found a six banger Camaro and I almost became a Chevy guy, but 2 years later I moved up to a 1972 Cuda 340 and this was the type of car I dreamed about since I was a young lad playing in a sandbox.

There's only one, poor bedraggled polaroid black and white of my 58 Dodge Crusader 2 dr ht and it wouldn't scan, so I searched for one off the 'net. Now to see if I can get it to attach!

A lot of you know my first car was a black on black 73 cuda 340 4 speed, original motor and trans bought in 1982, my last year of high school.  Paid $1800 . . . Needed a battery, had no rear bumper and no interior carpet.  Man I loved that car!   Loved it so much . . . I still have it 37 years later.

Drive it like you stole it . . . And they're CHASING you!

I've posted a lot about my first car, my T/A I bought in late '78 when I was a naive daydreaming teenager who had decided a T/A or AAR was the ultimate ride.  Not!  At least not in Chicago in December when I finally found a car not already sold or out of my budget.
After a few weeks of driving it, one minor accident and several close calls, thankfully it wouldn't start and ended up buried under a snowbank for the rest of that terrible winter until my dad and I could sort it out months later after the snow all melted.  If the plugs hadn't fouled I'm not sure either the car or me would still be around!  We both are still here and it's out in my garage right now.
Shortly after I started senior year, my mom bought a new Rabbit and sold me her '72 Pinto cheap, and I mostly drove that to school and work that year.  And my freshman year of college, I bought a triple black loaded '79 Bronco XLT and I have a lot more memories of my misspent youth driving the Pinto and the Bronco than in what quickly became a hobby car T/A.

I was looking for a 1956 Chevy Belaire as my first car but could not find one for the money I had. Ended up with a 1965 Chevy Impala SS.  This was 1973, I was 16.  Found my cuda in 1977 and became a Mopar fan.

'65 SS Impala is one of my favorite cars from the 60's.  Would love to have one with a 427 and 4-speed.

303 Mopar

'77 CJ7, 304 ci, auto, lifted 3", installed dual side exhaust, KC lights on top. Should've died at least 10 times in that thing.

I was Mopar from the jump, as my very first car was a 1976 Dodge Charger that I bought off my Mom and Dad for like $75 (they felt I needed to buy it rather than have it given to me, and that's all I had in my savings account, lol).  This would have been in 1988.

It was basically this car, except it was green, not NEARLY in as good of shape, etc.

I ended up putting Chrysler Rallye wheels on it that came off my Uncle's old late 70's Sports Fury.

I think this dates from just before I got my first car, a 1964 Comet 4dr. This 1968 Dodge Polara was my Dad's first car after we moved to Alabama in 1974 and I took and passed my Driver License test in it in 1975. Yes, that is a Vista Cruiser parked next to it - complete with CB antenna mounted on the roof.

I still have the t-shirt, but the hair is long gone, lol
