Every one has to manage their own risk. This is not a justification, but I do feel we are at less of a risk. For one, I tend to think we drive more cautiously in our 20-100K cars that can't be easily replaced and that we worked so hard on getting just right. In my regular car I tend to take things for granted that I wouldn't in my challenger. On the flip side, I think others notice our cars and tend to take a wider bearth or at least notice us. Basically it lowers the odds of a crash.
something like 20-30K people die from car crashes a year and "some" of those could have been prevented, how many we don't know, but some. So I'm not saying people shouldn't wear seatbelts, but if I was overly worried about it, I wouldn't ride my motorcycle. Life is a dangerous place in general
I have to admit years ago I never wore a seatbelt, heck some cars growing up didn`t even have them, I also rode my motorcycles with no helmet sometimes. Now I always wear my seat belt/shoulder harness and don not feel safe without it, I don`t ride street bikes anymore but do wear a helmet trail riding. I guess being older/wiser and more aware that I am not invincible like I thought when I was younger have led to me being a bit more cautious but I agree - everything has some risk in life and we all choose what risks are acceptable to us.

Last post by anlauto - Today at 04:18:40 AMIf the shoulder belt is optional, as in our 70-73 E Bodies, then it's optional to wear it. Of course the lap belt is mandatory. That's my understanding.

Last post by 700 AKN - May 01, 2024, 10:47:44 PMMy shoulder belt has never been used in my 1970 Cuda. If I tried to unravel it there would be major problems to get it flat enough to wear.
It's been folded up above the window forever. I did go through a ride check one time with my car and the officer asked why I was not wearing my seat belt. I told him I am wearing my lap belt and showed him. He just assumed that I was not wearing a belt because he did not see a shoulder belt on me. He never questioned it and sent me on my way. I've driven my car for 39 years and never had a citation for not wearing my seat belt.

Not coded for the A62 - Rallye Dash with N85 - Tachometer which would both be on the fender tag.
Standard instrument cluster T/A's came with 2-speed wipers. Rallye cluster T/A's came with 3-speed wipers.
This can be seen on the below JH23J0B307265 FE5 Challenger T/A which is not coded for J25 - 3-speed wipers on Line 8 of the broadcast sheet.

Needed to rebuild the coupler and also had some light rust at the firewall pass thru. Pulled column to correct.
Then the "well since I am in here" kicked in.
Will repaint column.
Pull custom dash cluster and finally finish it as was planned many years ago.
