Title: Holly Sniper and a Shaker
Post by: Daveh on January 31, 2023, 07:55:35 PM
Anyone ever install a Holley Sniper with a shaker or any other EFI system?  How did the fit, etc.?

Thanks Dave

Yes, I am running the Holley Sniper  Terminator X Stealth kit (Item 550-1003). The computer is external with the Terminator X and I mounted it inside under the dash on the driver's side. I also run the Holley Hyperspark distributor (556-306BK), Hyperspark ignition box (556-151), Hyperspark coil (556-152), and EFI Fuel Pressure Regulator (12-880). The ignition box is mounted inside above the driveshaft tunnel.

Got an email today saying that Holley has released a new and much smaller Hyperspark ignition box.

Space is a premium if you mount it under your dash.
Nice to see Holley keeps innovating but "Yikes" look at the price!

@Daveh (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/daveh_72),
I did not really answer your question on the fit so here is my  :alan2cents:. With a factory intake manifold there should be no issues with either big-block or small-blocks using factory shaker baseplates/components. The Sniper Stealth throttle body is exactly the same height as a Holley double-pumper carburetor. The shaker baseplate should work fine with stock height intakes.
I am running an Edelbrock Performer RPM 440 intake and it requires a modified shaker baseplate due to the increased height.
Here is a thread on modifying a shaker baseplate (fiberglass version) using a drop-base aircleaner bottom.

These threads will get you going for an aftermarket "hi-rise" intake manifold.

I installed a Holley Sniper 'Dual' Quad system will mount up to a stock manifold (and Edelbrock dual quad intake) with no modifications for the 426 Hemi.

The shaker dual carb base plate needs to be the AVS version to fit the 4150 throttle bodies, the factory AFB version the carb holes are too small.

The AVS (Edelbrock/4150 version) will need modification the front area where the front fuel rail cross over tube is, more exactly the 90 degree fittings on the front carb stick too far forward and hit the under side of the base plate. I used a hammer and dolly to push the metal up to clear the Holley fittings.

Once the metal is pushed up a bit to clear the fittings the shaker system fits. The overall height is the same when compared to the stock manifold and carbs :)
