Title: Need opinions on radiator
Post by: blown motor on February 02, 2023, 03:18:20 PM
I'm replacing the rad in the Charger with a higher capacity one. The question is do I go with standard aluminum like I have now or black anodized?

I would say it depends on what's actually anodized ? If the inside of the tubes are then I might go for it other wise if it's just the tanks I'd just used black BBQ paint. Cheap and easy to touch up if needed.
It's the inside where the coolant is that would be nice to be anodized, the outside is just cosmetic .

Really depends on what look you're after...do you like shiny things ?

good prices here as well...direct form the manufacturer.

My plan is to go this route if my loaner 26 inc works in the spring.

@Jay Bee (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/jay-bee_351)  The rad I'm getting measures exactly the same as the rad that's in the car now except the new one will have a thicker core and three tubes instead of two.

Thanks

Okie dokie, sounds like you're all set. I guess with the 3 tubes the 13lb rad cap will be OK  :dunno:

I was going to call Champion on Monday, but till then I saw where the website offered an upgrade to three and four row tubes, but it didn't say what size tubes. Do they remain one inch?
