The footwell pans have a flange that weld to the side of the rocker. You should duplicate the welds that your original floor has. It'll make since when you remove your old pans. Go with the full factory style pans.

Honestly I'm not a big fan of the orange undercoating, likely would have either painted it orange without the liner, or did the underside black, but I certainly like the colour orange :drooling: looks like it's glowing bright 8)
I usually paint them on the bottom. I went with the liner after seeing a few other projects. It's also not seen very often. It looks much better in person.

Yes, it's Raptor liner. It comes with the hardener. Then you mix the desired color. Shake and spray. Very tough stuff.

You can get it in black or tint version. Then you mix in the desired color which is called veloci tent.

I didn't know either. The only difference I knew about was the side areas where the floors weld to the rockers.

Yes...AMD manufactures two different pans, one for 1970 (400-1570) and one for 1971-74 (400-1571) They got the side flanges correct, but failed to change the ribbing on the 1970 panel I believe. The Goodmark/Sherman 1970 pans are correct in both regards :alan2cents:

I think most people outside of the car hobby would be shocked/surprised to see a major car part like your grill sitting on a dining room table. For those in the hobby, it's completely normal. :D

I never thought about it, but I'm sure you are right! Good thing is the misses like seeing the progress. So much of the small stuff is done at home after work.

It looks great, but before you clear off the table for dinner, the chrome headlight rings get black-out as well :alan2cents:

I'm aware of the blackout inside the chrome rings. Any tips for masking?

I decided to delete it. I also deleted the Plymouth emblem on the hood.

It's a 71. The cuda emblem will be unbalanced without it.
I'd reconsider.
Hood? I have no opinion. You do you, but you know the car show experts will point it out as missing.
Car shows, what fun.

I feel like I'm at a car show. Lol. All jokes aside, I just never liked the other emblem on there. Just a bit too much. I did just get the Holley accessory drive kit in this week. I catch some grief over putting Gen 3 hemi engines in as well. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20231018/4d83404a5dd754c3a2c68fda1bc9b2b0.jpg)

I never liked the "by plymouth" emblem either...but...Mr.cuda is right. You will get tired of hearing 'it should have a "by plymouth" emblem...lol
I should put "by E-Body Products" :bradsthumb:

You're going to absolutely love driving that Gen3, just so much better than the old motors.
Yeah, we have a 5.7 Hemi in our 70 Challenger and love it.

Nice. What are the transmission options available when you drop one of those into an ebody?
I'm using the A-833 transmission and small block bellhousing. You can also use a small block 727. Some people use the new style transmissions, but you have to figure out the speed sensors etc.
Even heard of some people using an adapter and running chevy transmissions that don't require speed sensors.
What did you benefit from putting the Holley front kit on ?
I guess a speed sensor would be a problem if you use a stock dash....I've been using Dakota Digital dashes where it becomes a none issue.

Oh.OK. I didn't know the 5.7's were the same small block bolt pattern. So if I felt like it I could replace the 440 with a 5.7 and by changing the bellhousing use the current 833 trans I have?

My 6.4 didn't have any accessories or brackets with it. Also, the Holley kit moves everything in closer. For example, the alternator is no longer close to the RH frame rail.

Correct, except you have to change the flywheel to an 8 bolt. Brewers has them.

Yeah, it was a blank slate.

The colors show LT or Rt and Hi/Lo or just Hi beam. They are also stamped.
Got the 392 installed! :wrenching:
Electric washer bottle, fuse block and ecm mounted.
Thanks to Mike Horn for coming over and installing the vinyl top.
Getting closer!

Just waiting on the Dana 60 to come in. Gonna run 15X10 weld wheels. I'm old school.
