With baseball starting up back up, who's your favorite team? Who do you think will win the World Series this year?
For several decades I've been a Mariners fan, but this year looks to be a tough one. But Go M's!!!
Here in Michigan . . We are Tiger fans! Hope they do well this year! :clapping:
I was raised a Giants fan and so were my boys. Go G Men!
Go INDIANS!!
Go Birds!
I would like to say Blue Jays, but I'm not sure if we have a team anymore :crying: :dunno: For the first time in YEARS there are still tickets left for today's home opener :unbelievable:
Hooked on the Raptors right now... :fingerscrossed:
Usually a Yankee's fan, but the Mets are looking interesting this year with all the player hoopla taking place. Opening game today against the Nationals at 1:05
Great article in the NYT's today on the 1969 Mets.
I am a die hard fan of the losingest team in all of professional sports...........
Yankees...I still have vivid memories of being at a game watching Reggie patrol right field.

EXPOS! THAT'S AWESOME!!
Red Sox
Toledo Mud Hens.....
I'm a Pirates fan.
This is the 40th year anniversary since we won our last World series. It will be another 40 years of hopelessness with the current penny pinching ownership.
Nice too see the rest of you have hope though. :clapping:
Ok you guys may think I'm nuts but I don't watch sports at all anymore. Don't even watch TV too much anymore.
Was A Yankees fan. My wife will still watch the Mets when it's on TV.
I'm a San Francisco Giants fan.
I got to go to Spring Training this year and even went to a Mariners game and got to see Ichiro

I am sort of like that too. I often wondered how exciting baseball could be when the ultimate game is the " No Hitter". In other words ... Nothing Happens. :haha:

Going to see the Giants.
Seats right behind home plate this Summer vs. Phillies on 8/10.
But my real Team is the Oakland A's.

That was a big factor how I became an A's fan.
So fortunate to be able to go to Mariner's games with my wife and enjoy time together. After catching a ball in the outfield during batting practice, this happens during the game. Gotta love the comments by the announcers. "Nice grab by the fan w/ the glove" and "Showing Some Range". Epic night at the ball park. Go M's!!!
Might need to be on Facebook to see the video.

I put $10 on the Marlins at 150-1 also as a birthday gift for a brother that lives down that way.
I'm gonna say Astros are gonna be a handful this season.
I follow the Braves whenever they are on tv; the replays often begin at 5am so I get to catch nearly an hour b4 heading off to work. A good young team deep into the 'rebuilding process'. Good knowledgeable announcers as well led by Chip Caray, son of Skip, and grandson of Harry.
Lifelong Mets fan and follow them when I can as well.
Locally here in Montgomery, I've been a season ticketholder of the Montgomery Biscuits since their inaugural season in 2004 (no, I have no idea what they were thinking with that name either :notsure:). The Skits are the AA affiliate of the Tampa Rays.

Absolutely - they may be the team to beat. It's a long season however
Rockies off to a rough start with a lot of guys on the DL (now called injury list for some reason). I agree the Astros look good, but the Dodgers are pretty solid too.
Giants are going for the four game sweep, over the Rockies, today!

Would love that.
Went and my Giants in Spring Training this year.
We need to send the coach out with a good season
Been a Giants fan my whole life. The last 2 and half years they couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. The day after they traded Matt Duffy the Giants have had a losing record.

Not sure Matt Duffy was the cure all for the Giants. I think we went with too many good but past their prime players and after the lamed up we were toast.
They traded Duffy who was very well liked by his teammates. He was the first rookie to win the Willie Mac Award. They traded him for Matt Moore who was a total bust.Matt Moore was the pitcher who hit Joe Panic in the head and put him on the DL and really has not been the same since.IMO the team chemistry has not been the same since.

Oh will agree with this 100%
Duffy was a true teammate.
Moore a total waste. It was a terrible trade.
.....and who thought Matt Duffy was going to hijack this thread? :notsure: I love baseball talk!
Well I don't really follow baseball that closely but, Royals. I think they were pretty much out of it by May last year and last I heard they have lost ten in a row sooo... :dunno:

Plus didn't he have that super fat cat? :haha:
Anyway. Hopefully I will be at one of the Yankee / Giants game that are coming up.
I don't know about the cat, but the team has a panda that fits that description! It's good to have him back, and he's become a pretty good pinch hitter!

Can't sit still in the dugout.
Always twitching, talking, yakking.... :bricks:
Duffy's cat Skeeter - 27# - sadly no longer with us
In other good news Giants over Nationals 7-3
and I thought I read that Giant's OF Kevin Pillar has more Home Runs than Bryce Harper.

This week Bill will have an Elephant on top of his Antenna.
:pokeeye:
True dat!
:haha:
It was nice to see the Yankees go down.
I really don't have a team I'm rooting for in this World Series, but it looks like a David and Goliath situation here. I just know the pitching match ups for the first two games couldn't be any better. It should be fun to watch.
History for the Team; Nationals take first game last night.
It was the first World Series victory for a Washington team since the 1933 Senators, an American League club
:crying: Sadly I am a Yankee fan!

Damn! I missed it. :wowzers:
Did anyone catch those last game?
Congrats to the Nationals on the World Series win
History was made with the historic win :unitedstates:
It was a good series! And it wasn't the Yankees so basically everyone wins.
Check out what this guy did... :unbelievable:

It was a great World series. I thought the Nats were toast after losing 3 at home.
The visiting team won all 7 games. You'll never see that again.
Congratulations to the Nationals, that was some kind of back and forth series!
I also liked the tv broadcast team of Joe Buck and John Smoltz with intelligent, understated commentary and enough timely silence that I wasn't resignedly pressing mute during self-important small talk.
I think my old Washington Senators and Montreal Expos Baseball cards had a little celebration afterwards :slapme5: :D

Yep, that's Mattress Mack , a great guy always doing good for people in town and in need, like during hurricanes and such , lets them sleep in the store , food , etc.
I have both a lot of furniture from him, had them do a move also. He took 100 veterans from Camp Hope to a WS game, may have been the 1st game. They close at 10 pm , if you buy at 9:59 pm, it is delivered that same night.
Another great moment in the series

Interesting series and history made.
First time in World Series history where either team did not win a game at home and the winner took the series by winning all games in the rival's stadium!
I'm already looking forward to next year. :Thud:
Does it matter who you like there all in hold due to the tasty beer named corona !!!
They are postponing for two weeks. They should get out in front of this and postpone opening day until May 1st. That would be more likely. I would eliminate all inter league games and begin working out a reduced schedule based on a May 1st start date.

Reduced schedule may happen but I doubt you have a start date before July 1
