Those custom or "personal" touches IMO hurt the value on the charger, plus the lack of attention to detail. could have put new carpet in and removed the extra decals. whats up with the black fender tags??
The seller should be feeling pretty lucky he dumped that turd of a Charger for $33K :o .....looks like a $20K car at best...
Yes: I think so, it looks like it could be a bit rough, I like the 68 better and I'm a real 71 fan.

I saw the unrestored AAR went for $58K. Hard to say if that was a good deal or not without seeing the car in person.
Column auto is a big negative also.

It's possible the AARs seller ended up having to be the high bidder to keep it from selling too cheap.
Nothing like having to pay both a sellers and buyers commission in an unsuccessful attempt to sell your ride. :crying:
I don't understand people listing cars in no reserve auctions like B-J. Way too risky for me.
Stay tuned to see if it ends up being advertised again soon. :pixiepop:
What's harder to understand, is when the market has spoken loud and clear and the seller still has his head in the clouds :looney: The BJ auction price is all the car is worth :alan2cents:

I was really curious to see what this car would bring. I owned a bench/auto column shift AAR for a long time. Really nice car and it was real numbers matching AAR. But the bench and column shift did not help the value. And I took that into account when selling.
No way I would run an AAR without very desirable options (TX9, 4 speed) through a no reserve auction. The market would to limited.

I saw the car in person on Friday afternoon, and I have to question the originality of the paint. :notsure: There was some blue paint over spray apparent on the right side leaf spring, and some raised paint ridges around some of the AAR decal(s). A nice car for sure , but I'd say the car sold for what it is worth.
I can't say I'd even pay 1/3 of that for the purple Cha/Cuda or the silver Cuda but to each their own.

So Staluppi paid 65K plus the 6,500 buyers fee for 71,500. Now he sold it for 80K minus 8k sellers fee for a net of $500. I think BJ was the only one to profit. Or have I missed something?

Sounds like a poor quality restoration using another shell or parts of one. Even today, replacing an upper cowl with an AMD piece, you would always take the time to switch the number over from the old cowl. :alan2cents:
