Here's the AAR that sold at Barrett Jackson.

https://azure.barrett-jackson.com/events/event/details/1970-plymouth-cuda-aar-217836

I wonder if the AAR seller is happy about his "NO RESERVE" sale at $58K ?  That's only $100,000.00 short of his asking price

He's probably still at the bar!  :'(

$58k minus the BJ fee and shipping to Palm Beach.   :bricks:

Not many Mopars in this auction, and only 2 Cudas and 5 Challengers, including this one with a 392 Hemi and sold for $165k.  :Thud:

303 Mopar

This Cuda with a 6.1 Hemi sold for $139,700.  Told ya @anlauto, resto- mods with Gen III's are in selling very high.  :pokeeye:

For that price I would at least want door handles :alan2cents:

This car has been discussed here before: https://forum.e-bodies.org/cars-for-sale-or-wanted/8/aar-cuda-survivor-on-ebay-b5-with-bench-automatic-dollar89-997/5751/msg81270#msg81270
Basically sold for market value (was bid to 58K also on eBay), but Mr. Jackson pocketed over 10k commission in the deal...

I saw the car in person on Friday afternoon, and I have to question the originality of the paint.  :notsure:  There was some blue paint over spray apparent on the right side leaf spring, and some raised paint ridges around some of the AAR decal(s).     A nice car for sure , but I'd say the car sold for what it is worth.

RUNCHARGER

I can't say I'd even pay 1/3 of that for the purple Cha/Cuda or the silver Cuda but to each their own.

And if you want to go really crazy with a 71 TA convertable

https://azure.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1971-DODGE-CHALLENGER-CUSTOM-CONVERTIBLE-217699

That one used to belongto a friend, he sold it at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale in 2016 to Staluppi for 65k plus commission, was re-sold today for 80k plus commission, a good profit...
All of the T/A pieces on it, including drivetrain, hood, are original from a wrecked T/A

Ben

So Staluppi paid 65K plus the 6,500 buyers fee for 71,500. Now he sold it for 80K minus 8k sellers fee for a net of $500. I think BJ was the only one to profit. Or have I missed something?

Unless this V code convertible was a total rebody,  this was a STEAL at $70,000 + auction fees!!!!!! Nice ones usually sell for around $400,000.

Color change, poor quality restoration and 5 speed transmission don't help  :alan2cents:
But I agree, but it for $70K, invest $100K in a proper restoration and you're still ahead of the game :bigmoney:

Mr. Staluppi and other regular customers do not pay all of the usual 10% buyer or seller fees... With 140+ cars at this auction, I'm sure he negociated a better deal!
