Hey gang!
It's been a while since I was behind the wheel, or under the hood for that matter. I've been checking in every now and again, but I can finally post an update.
As some of you know, I've had some
Back surgery at the end of March.
About a month ago I had a buddy come by to inspect my car and check that it was OK. (A few leaks, but nothing horrible) Since I can't lift a finger, He gently lowered my car off the jack stands for me, and put her back in the ground.
Today marks my 12th week from surgery. I now have the OK from the doc to start resuming my life. The surgery was successful and I have healed properly.
I have not yet been able to cram my stiff body into my old Challenger yet, but I can now start the countdown!
I'm dying to take it out, but at the same time, I'm scared to get stranded in it, just because I won't be able to do a damn thing to wrench on it! Lol
Hope to be on the road soon-
Dan

I wish! It's not that simple.
I have a lot of family make up time due. Haven't been able to do much, so my life has been on hold.
I go back to work that week as well. I'll get down there someday!

Glad that the surgery was successful and you are getting ready to get back behind the wheel.
Great news Dan. When you're more mobile a few of us should go for a bit of a run.
Good to hear you are coming along Dan, hope you get a ride in while the weather is still nice.

Dan, having had two similar major back surgeries in 2014 and 2015 I feel your pain and stiffness. All I can say is it will get better, slowly at first. Best therapy I found to recover and get over the stiffness is walking. Walk every day and keep increasing your distance/time! Before long you'll be feeling like your old self. Good luck with your recovery.
That is good news Dan! Glad to hear you are up and around! When you do get into that Challenger, just make sure you take that Iphone in case you break down . . .

Hi there DMZ73(Dan), SL6 Al here, back problems and the grief that accompanys it I feel I can understand. An old (63) Mopar friend of mine Mr. Dave O'Brien has had severe back problems for several years now. He has had 3 major back surgeries, This problem has slowed his mobility down quite a bit and he seems to tire frequently. He still loves to go to classic car cruises and shows, especially Mopar oriented. Because of the fact I have to slow my pace down doesn't bother me at all. It would be very easy for me not to inform him of car events that I may be attending, but I like the guys company, and we see the cars the same way. I feel very fortunate that my mobility and flexibility is still unimpeded and get around well at my age of (70). But I'd rather slow my pace and rest when needed at car shows with my good buddy Dave. Besides he's taught me to stop and smell the Roses or in this case look at the cars a little closer. He will talk the leg off a piano, but that's just Dave. Thanks, Al
I wonder how many more weeks of recovery you'd need to slither your way into a Viper... :)
Great news  Surgery sucks, but getting back in the car will cure all ill's . :rebelflag"
Glad you are on the mend :) Challenger time will be here soon :bigthumb:
Oh, the stories of woe could I tell.
I had a discectomy and Laminectomy. I've had problems with my back on and off since '02. Sometimes it's been so bad that I wasn't able to move for days- Over the course of years, I had done nearly everything I could to avoid the knife, but the herniated disc would always come back with a vengeance- no matter how good my physical condition was.
Short story- the relentless unending crippling brain searing pain is now gone. :)
I Shawshanked that sh!t.
Thanks for the positive vibes fellas!
