We have about 2 weeks for the big show and I am starting to get excited about the show . . A lot happening this year! We have the Decade of Carlisle celebration this year which is new! We have a new forum to celebrate! New banners to hang on the tent! New members coming to meet! New dinner plans for the group! Friday night pizza party will be on Saturday this year which I find exciting as that is the last day and after the typical Sat dinner, it left limited time to gather! I think we may have a larger tent this year, I have been talking with Ed at Carlisle Events and was told that we needed 50 registered members to get a larger tent but after seeing Viperboys video. . . . There is a chance. He loved it by the way . . .
Life has been busy so I really don't know what car I am bringing. . . Convertible has not been started this year yet so . . . Needs some attention. Hardtop is up and running . .
This will be an epic gathering so suit up members! And hang on . . . . :clapping:
Epic is the only word I can think of to describe what is about to happen. This is going to be EPIC!!!! I'm really looking forward to seeing some old friends and meeting new ones. :grouphug:
I wish topcat was coming . . . That would of been awesome! Topcat? Come on out and visit with us! Not to late! I have a room for you already!
It will be a good one - one to remember. I was hoping it would be even a tad more memorable, but it's still gonna be great. :)

I will really make a conscious effort for next year.
*BLEEP* We just got back from PA a couple weeks ago. I might go kick the tires on flights just because. Carlisle is my favorite MoPar show. Anyone have extra rooms booked if I find plane tickets?
I was still able to find a room , nothing special but close by
Someone mentioned recently that they had booked two rooms. Spikedog maybe?
Everyone is going to have such a good time. I wish I could go this year. I'll be thinking of everyone while I am on the road moving. :woohoo:
I wish I could go too, looks like you all will have a kick ass time. I'm hoping to have mine ready for the e-body 50th birthday in 2019
I will be thinking of you all! Make sure y'all get plenty of pics, videos and stories. :takepicture:

You betcha! That reminds me I'd better clear some space on the SD card for my DSLR... :) I'll bet there will be over a hundred photos from Friday dinner alone!
I always make a habit of making a sticky at the top of the Carlisle for everyone to put their pictures in so that people can get all their Carlisle porn in one, convenient place.
:inlove:  :haha:

That is correct . . I have a room at the Holiday Inn and the Quality Inn . . . I will probably use the Quality Inn room and save some beer money!
nope... no excitement at all. zero!
...said NO ONE EVER. :)) Can't wait for a road trip :driving: with Pixie! :pixiepop:

Hmmm that is the part I don't care for that much. . . driving 8 hours pulling a car by myself . . . music will be loud the whole trip! Need to start my playlist soon!
:bigthumb:
Caravan from Georgia?
"Excited" is a pretty strong word....I looking forward to it, I'll be sure to drop a case of CDN Coca-Cola off at the tent.
Hopefully during the weekend I might get a chance to meet a few members....I'll be in the swap meet most of the time. :looney:

Are you coming to the Friday dinner?? As I'm pretty sure the answer is no (since, well, I know...) then my next question of course is, Why Not?!?! :) I'd love to pick your brain on restorations, given that I used to work at a resto shop and that it's something I've always been fascinated by!
No one has mentioned this, so I will.....
Isn't the retro dealership outside of gate 1 being changed to a micro brewery?? :veryexcited:
Ya, I think you're right! :drinkingbud:  :drinkingbud:  :drinkingbud:

I would love to join in, but you're correct in guessing "no".... :-[
I'm at the show from 6:30am to usually 7:30pm or so.....pretty beat after all that walking/talking.
We've been staying at the Motel6 next to Hosses for about 20 years or so, so it's a tradition to eat at Hosses Friday night with a couple of pals.....Usually eat and walk back to the room to sleep.... :tired:
After 25 plus years of doing the show, it does not have the same impact that it did years ago. But the opportunity to see old friends and meet new ones makes it all worth the efforts. For us, we basically never leave our spaces from mid day on Wednesday until we finish loading the truck on Saturday night other than the trip to the restrooms and shower. I just appreciate the fact that the Carlisle staff does an excellent job of taking care of the people attending the show. Everyone be careful on the way to and from the event as we all have so much we are looking forwards to.
So jealous here...

I can agree that the majesty of Carlisle has faded somewhat in recent years just because so many of those cars we've seen before, and especially as it feels that the 2000-and-newer Challengers and Chargers now out-number the b-&-e-body cars that inspired their production.
But you're also right - the opportunity to visit friends and laugh over stories from the past is what brings us back each year.
This show has alluded me for years. Ed has tried to get us to be a vendor for years. But I just cant see selling against everyone there that we do business with. Being a new vendor would be a huge difficulty. One day I'll make it out to PA.
Cars are the excuse , the people are the reason :cooldance:

The cost to get there and all the expenses are the reason Mancini Racing will not be there again this year . . . just the tolls alone kill ya . . . then hotel expense, food and gas! Have to sell a lot of parts to make up for it. :dunno:

Perfectly stated CP!
Carlisle is :grouphug: + :drinkingbud: = :bradsthumb: so count me in.
I'm excited...I 'm not going, but I am excited for you guys that are!
I hope to get down to the show sometime soon as it sounds like a great time!

As a vendor of reproduction parts that is one reason why I stress the importance of the participants to support the vendors who support the shows. Having been involved in the industry for close to 40 years, if the vendors were to decide to stay at home and sale their parts only through E-Bay and the other forums, where would it leave the hobby that we all so love. Also, the same support needs to be shown to the show staff as we all see the shows continue to decline in attendance.
Not trying to rain on anyone's parade. But I have always told Mopar people that they need to attend Carlisle once to see how a real show is ran and for car people in general, everyone needs to attend Hershey one year. A truly remarkable experience.
It's my 12th year in a row and I still can't wait. I'm running out of stuff I need to get for my car though!
24th consecutive year for me :crazytalk:
That place will be packed. Can you make reservations?

Yes - said change has completed, and it is in fact getting fairly decent reviews. Was going to see if @Spikedog08 (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/4cruzin_11) wanted to go there Thursday evening, or just wait and hit it up maybe Saturday afternoon before heading back for pizza dinner. :)
I'll be ready to hit it up anytime with you.
I think they have food - Friday lunch?! :)
Jeff,
I hate quoting quotes as it get cumbersome to read.
Friday lunch at the new brewery sounds great. Is Murray saying it will be packed?? If so, oh crap.
It takes an effort for me to concentrate at work once the Carlisle threads begin to appear. . :checkmail:
My budget runs and hides. It knows. :vipermanhiding: :takemymoney:
MEK, I expect it will be packed with 5000-15000 people on their doorstep on a hot day. Would be a good idea to make a reservation if they allow it.

My thoughts are...How many of those people even know that new brewery is there? I just know from the past, not too many people ventured over to the retro dealership.
I could be wrong here. It wouldn't be the first time. :-[

I'm not worried about it - we'll probably trek over after our 10AM announcement on the dinner venue - shouldn't be too crowded that early in the morning! And it wouldn't be the first time I had a beer or 12 before lunch!! :)
:drinkingbud:
The trek starts later today
looking forward to it although it will be over far too fast !
But what a blast !!
Safe travels CP! :clapping:
