Could you please take a look at this page and let me know if you see anything that needs added or corrected?
https://www.e-bodies.org/resources/mopar-chrysler-10000-day-calendar-date-code/1970-model-year-engine-trans/
Our goal is to have any and all information for E-Bodies that anyone could ever need all in one site. These date code stampings on the engines and transmissions can be a little hard to decode so the plan is to make a simple page where people can look to get all the info they need without it being confusing. Please let me know your thoughts.
Here's a sample photo of what you will find on the pages:
Kokomo Transmission is a Chrysler automobile factory in Kokomo, Indiana.
The 3.1 mil Sq Ft. factory opened in 1956 at 2401 S Reed Rd.
:thankyou: Just the detailed eye I need. I'll get that fixed. :)

Engine Assembly Plant Codes:
K = Toluca Plant (Slant 6) - MEXICO - is this accurate for the '70s?
M = Mound Road, Detroit, Michigan Plant (318-340-360)
W = Windsor, Ontario Plant (318-340-360)
T = Trenton, Michigan Plant (383-400-440)
MN, NM or MV = Marysville, Michigan Plant (426 Hemi)
Good question. I do not have a slant 6 E-Body yet so I can not confirm it. Anyone have a slant 6 that can confirm the build location?

I'm thinking it might be Trenton for the slant 6's? :thinking: Still looking in to it. Let me know if you find anything.
I've removed the info until we can confirm the location the slant 6's were built. That's what greats about website, we can continue to make them more accurate as information becomes available.

Lots of slant 6 info here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_Slant-6_engine
from Allpar
QuoteThe slant six replaced an old flat-head design starting in 1960 models, and lasted in US-built cars through 1983, in US-built trucks until 1987, and as a marine engine until 1991. After leaving its original plant in Trenton, Michigan, the six was produced at Chrysler's Toluca, Mexico engine plant.
:clapping: Thank you for the help!

Here's a 1970 Slant 6 from Trenton. :twothumbsup: I'll continue to research this and updated as needed.
PP = New Process Gear Division, Syracuse, NY (Manual Transmissions)
i can look on mine, I know its the original /6 block (unless they replaced it between '70 and '73 when dad bought it, not likely since they are pretty rock solid motors). just not sure where to look on the block for the #s you need.
yeaaahh ... something I might actually be able to help with (doesn't happen often with a bare bones trim)
Slant 6's should be on the right (passenger) side of block near coil mounting bracket.
:takealook:
confirmed, mine also has the PT225R as the first set, can't make out the next digit because everything is in the way and not coming apart anytime soon, but the last 2 #s are definitely 22 which I guess would match the last 2 in my VIN? (100322)
