I have always had a problem, even more in 1971, with the massive bill board call out stripe on the 'Cuda models. Otherwise love everything else unique about that model year.
Here is my solution with cutting down some of the overpowering aspects, at least in my opinion.
I like that the HEMI can be enlarged to cover more than the tip on the door and maybe a Plymouth cutout also to break up the big "patch" look and allow more paint to show through.
What do you guys think?
I love the original billboard stripes, but can see how they are not for everyone. They are loud and proud and in your face.
What about making a strobe stripe out of it?
AAR strobe meets bill board.
Why mess with perfection ? :dunno:

That's what I told my wife when she mentioned about me going to the gym.
What about a mirror/reversed image with 340 and Plymouth and an out line, then it's mostly body color :notsure:
Maybe strobe the Plymouth?
I like the delete option myself. Billboard makes the car "unclean" IMO.

There are times when I feel like I'm warming up to them little by little lol
Don't be surprised that after all this debating with myself I end up either not putting them on or put them on just like OEM with no custom modifications.
Besides they would then match my Prize Shop 'Cuda hats and T-shirt lol

You mean like this?
Also thinking about putting one of these somewhere on it.
Other art work to be considered.

Something like this?
Okay: I don't hate that Orange one's rendition.
I like the orange one too. It's either a digital print or air brushed.

I believe reading in the article that it was air brushed.
I would probably use a thin solid black line instead of the thicker fade in/ghosted line as in the picture for even more intrusion to the paint job.
This one seems to keep with the traditional '71 Cuda image and still manage to allow 90% more paint to show through.
One last batch of example ideas but the more I look the more the original billboard gets more comfortable for me.
If I put a black landau top on it would even be more congruent for me.
Especially, as the last picture looks more like my car color and the black does not seem to overpower it too much.
I really like Autumn Bronze 71 Cudas for some reason.
Like the ghosting idea.

Like the ghosting idea.
Now I'm back to liking ghosting more myself.
Won't know for sure until just before committing to do it.
Seems to be a hard choice for me.
One solution is to buy another '71 (Ya Right!) lol
I do like the originals a lot! Billboards are so classic and cool.
I struggled back and forth forever trying to decide if I wanted to add the billboards or not.
I had originally decided not to add them but ultimately, I ended up added the original billboard decals.
They have grown on me over time and now I couldn't imagine it without them.
They are definitely in your face and loud and proud.
An original classic that you can immediately identify with as soon as you see them.
The only thing I do not like is the one with the gloss black painted on stripe. I realize its custom and much easier to maintain but I just don't care for it especially on a otherwise stock looking car.

Your statement may turn out to be very prophetic for me lol
Really like the ghosting done here. Looks like the same car posted earlier in this thread.

Another thought is to pinstripe the edge & lettering/ numbers & leave the rest open
Keep them coming. While I still keep going back and forth like an old rocking chair lol
I removed my Billboards when I first bought my Cuda' and it really looked good. Years later I had them put back on and it made the B5 blue pop, it also gets a lot of attention when I take it out. So I'm a fan of the original look.
Welcome @biffielube
I missed seeing you join up
Billboards & B5 looks great !!
Still another variation
I prefer the factory billboard also. But I did get some push back from some friends about putting them on. It looks clean without them but at the same time looks plain. I think they add to the Mopar muscle look.
I vote for factory billboards!

This is not bad. Maybe strobe it a little farther down, keep the same startingng point. Bottom needs something changed too.

I like your idea on that. Here is another still
Too braggadocious for my tastes. Billboards to me are just rude and in your face. Kinda like some people in a way. Maybe why most seem to either hate them or love them. I like the quiet type, or better yet don't tell me, show me. Billboards are like trash talking. But that's just my :alan2cents: with change back and in my little world.
Looking for as many variations as possible with of course not putting one on as an option.
