Title: Edelbrock heads question
Post by: blown motor on March 12, 2025, 02:25:07 PM
On Edelbrock 60929 Performer RPM heads on a 440, do the exhaust manifold bolts go into the water jacket like they do on stock heads? Also does the alternator pivot bolt go into the water jacket?

If you're not sure, shoot some air into the holes and see what happens.
Even if someone here claims to know, I'd want to check myself to make sure.

I have to take a header off because it leaks. Need to know if I have to drain the rad.

just start removing the bolts...if you see water coming out ..screw it back in and then drain the radiator.

OR, call/email Edelbrock and ask the people who made them?

Per the installation instructions for the Edelbrock 60929

http://www.edelbrock.com/mwdownloads/download/link/id/75515

"Exhaust flange has been extended out .125" in order to provide dry exhaust bolt/stud holes."

I think that answers the question.

I called them and was on hold for 25 minutes so I hung up.  I emailed and said a reply could take 6-9 days!
