Question:
Who will win today?
Option 1: 49ers
Option 2: Chiefs
This big day has arrived . . . Who will go home winners? I have $20 on Tom Brady . . . :dunno:
My wife is super excited to watch! It's going to be hard to beat the Pats. I'm always pulling for the small town or long shot. I thought Detroit should have went further this year. They have WAY to many good players to be preforming like they are.

Yeah Detroit is due for something soon . . Just wasn't in the cards this year! :bricks: Getting the theatre room ready for a show!
:ohyeah:
:foul: Oh yes!!!!! Hope it's a close tight good game. :drinkingbud:
We're overseas. Africa / Indian Ocean region. Trying find way to watch. Can do NFL gamepass for just super bowl. Just wondering if IP address it will get blocked. We'll find out. Lol
Starts 330am as well. :drunk:
What did I just watch? Wow!
The second half and overtime were incredible! :looney:

Overall it was a freaking awesome comeback. Gotta give them credit. Great game. :clapping:
Wow! Cavs coming back down 3-1 and now the Pats!!! Legendary performances :drinkingbud:
can't stand brady/belechick........that being said, best QB of all time...period. Maybe best coach in history as well, tough break for atlanta, but thats what you get when all you need to seal the game is 2 running plays with no gain to put up a field goal that puts the game out of reach, instead, drop back for a sack, and a holding call, an push yourself out of field goal range, ATL really dropped the ball on that one i think.
Incredible game :woohoo:
the winner deserved it no matter who won Falcons had them rattled for 3 qts .
Heck of a job to come back .
Still I was hoping for the Falcons :sorry:
Not a big football guy, but I watch the SB most of the time and I had to turn it off and walk away when they caught up. I knew that if I watched the OT, that the Falcons would win and after the performance that the NEP's put on in the last half, that seemed unfair. LOL I caught that they'd won on the internet and imagine that Tom Brady must have been a wee bit uncomfortable. what with that horseshoe up his arse. Talk about a cliff hanger! I'll also bet that somebody, likely in Vegas, made a ton by betting at the half on the NEPs. :bigmoney:
Here we go Football season. :slapme5:

PATRIOTS!

With Edelman gone, Brady's go to man is out for the season.
49'ers looked pretty good today.
They'll do better than what everybody predicted.
Sports Illustrated predictions:

Going to be hard to do worse then predicted. :haha: 2 wins out of 16 games wins is pretty low expectations.

CODY,

I will probably be dead of old age before they win another SB.
Can we not talk about this last superbowl? I'm still butthurt.
To this day I'm still pi$$ed at the Falcons. How do you blow a 28 point lead??
It's been 8 months and it is still too soon to be talking about that tragedy! :crying:
Time to light this thread up again.
Whose your pick?
How bout them 9'rs today! :bravo:

Looking like the Steelers might be a contender.
They won't loose again to the Patriots.

I believe this has put a dent in the NFL and players wallets. First the big safety concern around concussions and players getting hurt in general has prompted many young "would-be football players" to participate in other sports instead. Now the whole sit down and pout b.s. has caused a loss in fan base, both attendance at games on on T.V.
So who cares about the SB, bring on NASCAR!

That is not a bad idea at all. I am not much of a football guy since Joe Montana retires.
Sorry to the Patriot's fans but; hope the Eagles pull off a win. :deadhorse:
Sick of the Brady love fest and really would like to see an underdog (different team) win.
I live in northern New Jersey which is pretty much Giants territory.
Love the fact that the Giants beat the Patriots in the XLII Superbowl; considered a huge upset with the Patriots considered 12 point favorites. A final score of 17-14 gave the Giants a win.
In Superbowl XLVI in 2012, it was considered a rematch of the 2008 game. This was another upset with the Giants winning 21-17 over the Patriots.
The secret seems to be to keep as much pressure on Brady as possbile
Hoping the Eagles can pull off a win! :woohoo:

If you are interested, he is looking for someone to take his place. It's at St Andrew's Cathedral, Philadelphia, PA at 3pm. Her name is Elizabeth, (Ellie) she is 5'4, about 115lbs, good cook too. Still being debated. Santa Clara or SFO parade.
Given the icy relationship between the Niners and the city of Santa Clara, I would say SF, for sure.
Usually, the guys with the shovels to clean the poop, come at the end, behind the elephants. If it's in SF, they need to be leading the way.

Chiefs are at a slight favorite according to odds...Spread is at 1.5
Why the Chiefs can cover
Tierney knows Kansas City is 7-0-1 against the spread in its past eight games overall, and Mahomes can make plays with his legs if the 49ers' pass rush puts on too much heat. The 24-year-old has 106 rushing yards in the NFL Playoffs 2020 and broke a 27-yard touchdown after the pocket collapsed in the AFC title game.
Damien Williams has 92 rushing yards in the playoffs after he averaged 4.5 yards per carry in the regular season.
The Chiefs are 15-9-2 against the spread over the past two seasons after a victory and the defense has talent at every level. The unit was eighth in the league against the pass during the regular season, allowing 221.4 yards per game. The secondary is led by safeties Tyrann Mathieu, who had four interceptions, and Daniel Sorensen, who had two. Cornerbacks Charvarius Ward and Bashaud Breeland each had two picks and broke up a combined 18 passes.
Why the 49ers can cover
Tierney is aware that San Francisco has covered the spread in all five games as an underdog this season and the team has four top pass rushers who have been wreaking havoc. Defensive ends Arik Armstead, Nick Bosa, DeForest Buckner and Dee Ford each had at least 6.5 sacks in the regular season, combining for 33 of the team's 48. Linebacker Fred Warner added three and led the unit with 188 tackles, broke up nine passes and forced three fumbles.
The 49ers are 6-2 against the spread in non-conference games over the past two seasons and had the No. 2 rushing offense in the regular season at 144.1 yards per game and averaged 29.9 points, also second in the league.
Raheem Mostert, Matt Breida and Tevin Coleman all are capable running backs, but Mostert has taken the lead and has averaged 6.8 yards per carry in the playoffs. Tight end George Kittle had 85 catches for 1,053 yards in the regular season.

That was one heck of a game; Glad KC pulled it off and made history, beating the 50 year drought! Mahomes has some NFL future ;)
I remember when Joe Montana went to the KC Chiefs with Marcus Allen. I wonder if he feels bitter sweet about the outcome. I saved the pennant from the 1994 game when he helped take the KC Chiefs to their first conference championship.

Yeah, On the radio this morning I heard them refer to half-time show as the ... "ass-time" show!! :crazytalk:
The half time show was nice. I just didn't understand why they felt the need to make it bi-lingual.
The craziest thing was with 5 seconds left on the clock, Maholmes throws a bomb. If he had completed that pass for a touch down, everyone that bet the "under" of 54.5 points would have been toast.
:-[ Third and fourteen seven minutes and a little change as a Chiefs fan it was more than I could bare so I left the game behind and went in to the other room and watched a Hallmark movie with my daughter :headbang: :bricks: ... I humbly submit BOTH my fan card and my man card!! :crying:
I watched the last half again tonight just to watch the horror unfold to gain more perspective.
The 40 plus yard catch was a really well designed play.
It totally threw the defense off guard.
So many thing went wrong...or right, depending on your point of view.
It's gotta really hurt...It did!
I almost always pull for the underdog ... but in this case I don't think that there really was one.
I have liked the 49'ers since the days of John Brodie and Gene Washington and of course Joe Cool and The Goat! Besides, my wife is from there ... and I just couldn't bring myself to root for Al Davis's crew!
Like the Chiefs too ... and Andy Reid. Was probably pulling a little more for them since they hadn't been to the Big Show in 50 years while the 49'ers have been there seven times over that same span.
In the end, it's just a game and I was happy to see Andy Reid finally grab the big prize! It was certainly more entertaining than last year where the Lambs were never really in the game at all.
Glad the Chief's won. Made $100!

The positive out of this? You have a great front seven on defense. Bosa is a monster. The team is young. This might be just a stepping stone to greater things.
Was a good game! I won $20 so I'm happy. Half time show did nothing for me. Wife knew some of the music, I did not. One thing I do know, there is large money in that game. Just to go would cost a small fortune. Also to have a commercial during the show, I heard was 3 million . . . WOW.

This is exactly correct. It came down to a coaching dual in second half. Reid had a solid game plan that his players went out and executed. 49rs coach was not able to switch gears and properly contain it. Lesson learned.
Also agree that the 49rs have a solid immediate future.
Learn from that and move forward.
