Car Show Season - Be Careful Out There

Car show season is here and it is inevitable that some show off is going to loose it.  We have had some shows around here even cancel because people act like idiots and cause accidents or destroy property.  And its not just Mustangs.  The Cobra wreck was at a Cars and Coffee near my house that I go to regularly.  Please be careful and respectful out there.

I've seen my share of idiots wrecking their cars leaving shows doing burnouts and such.  I always wait until the very end before I leave so all those idiots are already gone.

Very unfortunate for the cars, and good no one was hurt. It almost always seems that these type of crashes start with coming from a turn to a straight away and punching it part way through the turn, then the complete loss of control. Wonder if any of these guys did any sanctioned/timed 1/4 mile drags?

Yes: Maybe rather than getting bad press for the car hobby and getting cruises etc. shut down, people should do it at the track like the big boys do.

I hate seeing stuff like that because inevitably it's due to lack of experience behind the wheel of something more powerful than the lexus they drive daily. if you have the $$ to buy the beast, you better know how to control it or the beast will take control and say F*(& YOU!!

Precisely my thoughts. Our local cars and coffee has relocated several times now because of this type of activity. Now it's in a large mixed use parking lot and a food truck brings in coffee and donuts. This was because it had been kicked out of several coffee shops in town... sigh...

drifting is not that hard but once you are in a drift lifting right off  is bad this will cause the tires to grip again & send th car in the wrong direction quickly which is exactly what happened in both videos , by gently rolling out of the throttle it is easily controlled.

And that's where it belongs. On track or empty space.  Not with people around. (Not meaning you said that Chrycho. Lol. )

Well track or not it is good to practice somewhere safe before doing something stupid leaving a car show in front of everyone !
I have driven almost as much slideways on ice as straight it seems so drifting is just second nature to me be it on ice or asphalt but it takes delicate power control to maintain the slide without over doing it or letting off completely , as Marc says Pedal it baby !
I took my Charger to the track having built the whole car for road racing I though it would turn , I was wrong , mostly the tires fault I believe , so anyway after a couple of laps fighting the car through the corners I starting steering with the back tires the pictures I have show no lean but lots of smoke !!  I aslo found it effective in blocking cars trying to pass as well as I could drift the car at 45* angle & take up alot of the corner LOL not the fastest way around the track but a lot of fun 
The viper is off the throttle virtually as the video starts with the rear tires locked up & fishtailing causing the loss of control staying on the power but reducing the power would have been no problem .
In the cobra vid he lifts on the throttle  mid 7 seconds in the video & the rear immediatly whips around  & puts him out of control , where reducing power without lifting it would have been easy to drive it out without wrecking .
It is easy to have $$ not so easy to use the hp you can buy safely !
