PCV fresh air hose Problem Solver for Shakers

In the past I bought the reproduction PCV air hose that goes from the canister to the back of the air cleaner base plate.

Problem I kept having was that it always had a slight kink or fully kinked restricting air flow for the PCV system to work properly.
Started sucking oil into the carb and smoking out the rear.

It has a pre bent elbow.
Now my PCV is working like it should.

Another hose problem solver:

I bought the reproduction power steering return hose. The low pressure one.

It began to get saturated with power steering fluid and then began leaking all over.

Don't buy this.
Save yourself some grief and get a real hydraulic hose.

The PCV hose does not hook up to the air cleaner. It goes to the base of the carburetor 

The oil breather hose goes to the air cleaner and both hoses have very different, distinct applications.

It is part of the PCV system.

Looks too short.
At least for a Hemi.

This is a  28467 you need to cut it down but it works very well, I just put one on my 383 with a Performer RPM a few weeks ago...

If you have smog laws, then the PCV fresh air side is part of the inspection process.
I know this since I was once a CA. smog certified tech.

The hose must be connected from the air cleaner to the valve cover canister to prevent engine vapors escaping.

I know why that hose is there, I just never heard it called the PCV hose before. Usually the PCV hose is connected to the PCV valve.

Are there still CA smog laws for our cars? Just curious
