I finally found a 1970 340 4 Speed Cuda
Car had what I was looking for.
Color, Drive Train, Options.
Not perfect but a pretty good driver that needs a few details that I can take care of.

As the car went through a few owners a binder of paperwork/history was separated from the car.
The person I bought the car from actually owned it 2 times. When he sold the car the first time the paperwork went with it. When he bought it
a the second time from a dealership in CA the paperwork was gone.
I spoke to a few previous owners, and they always moved the paperwork along with the car.
I spoke to 405 Motors in OK and they sold the car to a person in Tulsa OK and said the paperwork went with the car. I have not tracked that buyer down yet.
If anyone knows this car or has additional information, I would appreciate you letting me know.

Last 6 of VIN 121857

Thanks,
Matt

That's a beautiful cuda!  Hopefully you'll track down the records.
I have a folder of original sales records, and a binder of restoration receipts, documentation and the original fender tag for one of my Challengers I did a concours restoration on.  I worry if something happens to me will all those critical items be recognized as going with the car or will they get tossed?
Maybe I should get a secured sealed box to put them in that I would put in the trunk?

Who will look after wrapping up your affairs after you leave? That person needs to know what goes with each car. I have sent an email to my daughter describing each car, it's options, some history, it's approximate value, etc so that if she's the one that ends up disposing of it she knows what 's what. Not hard to do and a lot easier for her.

Beautiful car! I personally make copies of all paperwork and keep them when I sell a car now. Hopefully one of the previous owners did the same and will connect with you, fingers crossed for you.

Great looking car!! I love those 340 4 speed cars. A total blast to drive. Does yours have power steering, power brakes? My car has no p/s, no p/b. With the 340 it is still easy to drive and stop. No boat anchor in the nose.  :D    Sorry big block guys.

Unfortunately nobody.  That is why it's a big concern of mine that the sales paperwork and original fender tag will someday get lost.

Totally agree. Super nice looking car

Nice looking car. There could be a multitude of reasons why that owner didn't pass along the folder of documents. Good luck tracking them down but I wouldn't expect much from them if you do find them.

Hi Matt,

This may be a long shot, but I have a friend that use to own a Cuda just like yours. 340/four speed. He sold it quite a while back. We both live in the Tulsa area, and I remember he bought it somewhere south of Tulsa, possibly Mustang, OK? I'm not clear about that though. He showed me the Ad, but I didn't pay much attention to the area. He sold it a year or so later.

Anyway, you just show the rear of your Cuda so I can't confirm anything. But here's a picture of his Cuda when we all went to the Daryl Starbird Custom Car show after he bought it. It won its class.

Your picture and Tulsa struck a chord. Hoping for the best.

Welcome by the way.

I am pretty sure its the same car
Car had Radial TA's on it when I bought it.
Car was a factory console car which is missing now.

Let me know if you find out anything.

Thanks
Matt

Marty

Correct, it did not have a console. I believe If you look under the hood near the battery there is pitting on the hood and around the battery. Looks like it may have had a battery explosion sometime in its past and it wasn't addressed when it was painted. It's been a while.

I sent you a PM.
