70 cuda beltline trim was attached like this when i took it apart. seemed to work but it was new to me.

Awe man I need a set of door belt Mouldings!!! I have seen those black clips on various Mopar trims. Not sure if those are original for a Cuda but they are Mopar clips and I have found them for the corner C trim on a Cuda tail panel stainless

Those clips are correct for the belt molding, but I bet you a 20 that they work better than the plastic clips.
