I put an LED in mine. It was physically a bit bigger so it didn't push in all the way but it's snug and brighter.

Sorry, I don't remember. I took my original to a local electronics store and asked for a 12v LED size match. I wanted to stay away from on-line; exchange rate, shipping , etc. They're originally a 1445 and several styles on the internet. Aero-Lites has one with a smaller head but it doesn't look like it'd be that bright to me.
