70 Hinge cover repair

Just got my 70 hinge covers in the mail, the buttons need to be re-attached to the covers. My question is there a spring that goes the stud that releases the seat latch? Is the button attached to the cover rigidly or does it fit loose to allow the button to move? Thanks

No springs. I simply re-attach the button with GooP if it's broken off.
