@6bblgt, Dan, I wasn't asking about the V6_ option being dropped in order to say I have a non optioned car with billboards. I just wanna clarify that.

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately I'm having to restore a car that was illegally parted out by a body shop. All the parts were sold at swap meets from Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio. It was a complete car. So now I'm having to figure out all of the mid-year changes that might be.

V6X - SPD 701

I guess I was thinking since the factory wasn't applying the billboards that they weren't available. Thanks for clarifying.

I don't understand this comment - the factory installed the billboards

I wasn't implying you were making anything up - just the "claims" or rumors that are circulating out there in reference to the 1971 'cuda billboards, that make no sense

I was referring to the rumors out there that the dealers started doing the stripes. I think you are pretty clear that every V6_ car had stripes factory installed. And that makes since.

Also, back to the dash, here is a picture of the dash from the ad. I called them and they insist it correct. I thought Instrument Specialties was a reputable company. I'm going to try and return it. Bummer!!

IMO - I had my rallye gauge cluster done by Instrument Specialties years ago . . . I had then and still have mixed feelings over my experience with them.  I ended up having to ship my gauge cluster back multiple times to have things corrected on it.  They ultimately did end up making things correct after all of the shipping back and forth but what a pain and waste of time.

If one were trying to give them the benefit of the doubt . . . maybe they are trying to say that the gauge pod housing is stamped for a '70 - '71?  Either way, from your picture the speedometer, clock and lens are definitely not '70 - '71 and should not be advertised as such.
