Hey, hope all are well and staying sane.

I have some brake fluid seepage from the brake safety switch.  Im finding it on the underside of that rubber bushing. Like at the joint btwn the bushing and the large nut.
There's a cross-section of this part in the service manual. I studied it a bit.  I then took a vicegrip, grabbed the end of that stud/bolt to keep it from spinning, and then tightened that little 5/16" nut. And it definitely went tighter but its still leaking a little (very little, like hardly enough to make a drop over the course of a week).  Dont wanna strip anything but i may try to go a bit tighter.
Do you think I need to replace it?
Does the fact that that stud/bolt spins, mean that somethings wrong inside?

I assume it is a new part can you return it to where you bought it ?
there is a shuttle valve inside that moves either way & allows the terminal to ground out turning on the light , so it probably functions ok but the switch is not sealed properly & should be fixed as air could get in compromising the brakes .

The switch doesn't seal the fluid, you should be able to remove the switch & no fluid should be behind it.. The problem is the internal seals on the valve...

I bought it new from Fine Lines probably 5 years ago along with all new lines. The car hasnt even been on the road yet but I kinda doubt they'll return it. We shall see.

So I need to replace the whole block then, not just the switch, correct?

Just got off the phone with Bob about other things, brought up your issue and he said absolutely, send it back. :worship:
