Putting some fresh carpet in my 71 Barracuda and while the interior is out, I want to make sure to do all the little things that need it. I noticed a screw on either side of the lower rear seat catches and I was wondering what they are for. Both were halfway screwed in as if they hold some sort of carpet stays. Any ideas?

Also, on the carpet, does it get cut to go around the gas pedal or underneath it?

Did the screws have a larger washer? I've seen screws there that just go through the carpet to secure it. Any aftermarket carpet will need to be trimmed around the gas pedal

There are smaller washers captured on the screws and it makes sense that they would be some additional carpet stay type of fasteners.

While everything is apart, I want to tackle the rear window mechanisms. The rear windows roll up and down but the regulators are pretty wiped out. Are convertible rear regulators different than hardtop ones? If so, what's a good source for them or does someone offer quality rebuilding for them?

I saved this picture from years ago. I believe this applies to manual windows too, maybe someone can confirm that.

It looks a little different than mine. I did find one on eBay that looks like mine so I might pull the trigger on that set. Hopefully it works okay. The driver side seemed to work really nice after I lubed everything up. The passenger gear is stripped out pretty good.

Could this explain why my vert rear windows stick out an inch above the door trim when all the way down? Could I have coupe regulators?

I doubt it. it likely has to do with where your down stop is adjusted, obviously too high. :alan2cents:
