finished all my seats, installed rear and front are in loosely...

my question is what is the deal with these seat spacers I keep seeing?
was this factory, or factory option?
should it have them or not?

one bad fish

I just completed my seats with new covers and foam AND put these spacers in as well....now my head hits the headliner..! Think the spacers are coming out from the driver's seat anyway lol! I assumed they were put in from the factory. My seats never had them to begin with. Although..I am 6' 6"! I had to make special brackets to move the drivers seat back three inches as well.

Most folks do not use them on ebodies.

Especially if you are tall.

The factory didn't use them so why would anyone?  Well I guess..

There's little enough room to get your legs into these cars as it is.

I use them on the hump side of my seats. I felt like I wasn't sitting upright, so I used them. They help a little bit. Maybe.

ok, so it sounds like a 'cuda never had them but they can be added for comfort reasons (etc)....
the only reason I thought I needed them was my father and I restored our first e-body 4 years ago, it was a 70 challenger RT.
I remember the first test drive, it felt like my legs where completely straight out, I recall thinking huh maybe we should space up the seat....and so I kept this though in my mind for when I did my e-body I made the mental note to add spacers to lift seat but maybe i'll wait as I have learned that they are both e-bodies but a lot more differences then I once thought.
if they never had, I wont add them.
