Hello everyone,

I have done a bit of research in the past in regards to choosing a company to restore my dashpad. I have read multiple threads debating between Just Dashes and Ultimate Rides. Very little have I heard feedback from ABC Moparts. Well anyways, I decided to give ABC Moparts a try. Long story short, I am very happy on how it came out. Now, do I have experience with any other companies? Or have I seen any other restored dashpads from other companies in person? My answer is NO! This is literally the first restored dashpad I have seen in person. In that matter, I cannot answer if it is any better or worse as compared to other companies. I took a bit of pictures to share how it turned out. I have no idea how fitment will be until I get to that stage in my restoration. The only complaint I have are the streaks that are on top of the dash pad on the right side speaker. But that is just me being picky. Otherwise, I have put it back in it's box for storage and will be picky about it at a later time. If you stare at some dullness on the dashpad; those are my finger prints. The pics taken when the pad was in/on the box is when I very first took it out. The other pics are from when I had already handled it. Happy holidays!

At first glance, it looks nice.

As you progress on your build, it will be interesting to see how the speaker covers fit.   In my case, the fit on the side speaker covers was so bad that I had to have the dash re-done.  The center speaker cover that I have and have seen elsewhere had a bit more of a crown to them than what I have on the dash pad.   It looked like a big deal in my workshop but I don't even notice it now that I'm driving the car.

When you get to the point of installing it on the frame, don't be surprised that you'll need to go on a bit of a hunt to find all the screw studs on the pad.   A number of mine were covered with foam.

Here's hoping it all works for you!

Very nice looking dash pad, and thank you for all the pics.  How soon til you are installing it?

@Dakota  I want to say that I have read other people making adjustments to their dashpad when installing the speaker grills, but I may be wrong. Was your dashpad made from ABC moparts as well? And i did take pictures of underneath my pad before I shipped it out. I hope I did take good pictures showing the studs. Haha

@fc7cuda I'm not too sure when I will be able to get to that stage honestly. I'm really hoping this upcoming year. I'm steadily working on this project, but it sure does take a long time when it's a one man job. For sure, I will be updating this thread when the time comes of how my experience was installing the pad.

I think as far as reproduction pads go, it looks very nice in you pictures

However, it's not "your" dash pad restored, it's simply a new pad manufactured on top of an original steel core. They need your original core dash pad to replenish their supply of steel frames.  Ultimate Rides operates in the same fashion. If you didn't have a core, they would still sell you a new pad @ $195 more.
Just Dashes operates differently from what I understand, they repair the cracks and recover your existing pad or something to that affect. :dunno:

I don't know who made my replacement dashpad.  I bought it about 8 years ago a from a vendor who later stopped carrying the pads.

Likely Ultimate Rides. They sell under several different company names and a lot of vendors both big and small carry their pads at one time or another. Just like our very own Roseville Moparts, they stopped carrying the UR pads because of all the supply hassles. :alan2cents:

One more thing I have to add is that although the transaction/deal was made with ABC Moparts, on my shipping label, it states that it was shipped from a company called Al Knoch Interiors here in Tx. It makes me believe they are the ones that did the dash pad and ABC Moparts was perhaps the 3rd party in the transaction?  :dunno:

That's interesting, could be their "manufacture division" and they just drop ship from there  :dunno:  Be interesting to see if some way they are connected to Ultimate Rides....like maybe this "Al Knoch" does pads for both companies?  :dunno:

7E-Bodies

I contacted ABC a couple months ago. He sent me two samples from the 70 green (since he said they switched up during part of the production year. I matched up the proper sample to my dash, informed them of which sample I wanted, and he said ok, but it'd be about 6 months before he'd get to me. That was a couple months back. I was concerned he'd forget me, but he assured me he wouldn't. At the time, they were slammed and he had personnel affected by the virus. I'm getting nervous and hoping he calls when it's my turn.

I have no idea if Al Knochs does the pads for both companies. But I would assume so. They're literally right next to El Paso which is where I believe Ultimate Rides are... @anlauto I know you are not seeing my dash in person which takes away a direct opinion of yours, but I know you have seen many Ultimates Rides pads. From my pictures I have posted, do you see a difference between ABC Moparts and UR?

Yeya93

@7E-Bodies i sent mine in the first week of September. I barely received mine back last night. So it took him 4 months to get mine done. I never really got in contact with him throughout as I sorta forgot about sending my pad in due to being extremely busy with the project car in general [emoji23]. I didn't realize he would send samples out. I figured he used the same vinyl pattern for all?

No not at all, based on your pictures, they look virtually identical in my opinion  :alan2cents:
